Leo frowned, he'd seen the quick exchange and had a fairly good idea what she'd seen. "It'll be gone when The Dark Lord is charged again" he said in a gruff voice, his eyebrows knitted together. "Please, don't say anything to anyone else."
Micheal nodded in all innocence, "Never, madam" he said in his best French accent. Then, he handed her her tokens and started picking out his own.

Mai grinned and began sorting through her chips, putting them into neat coloured piles.
For the first time ever, Kai felt humored. 'please don't say anything to anyone else' Ha! that's funny!
Kai looked at him in a strange way and rolled her eyes behind her dark glasses, her whole demeanor more or less said.
'Yeah you know, because i'm capable of just yelling it out.'

Micheal shoved his chips to the side and handed her her cards. Then, he got out his own. He grinned; so much for a poker face. "Going down"

"Mmmhmmm..." Mai said, her face stony flat as she observed her own cards and threw away a couple, drawing the amount she dropped. Her face still remained completely unhindered as she peered over the top of them at him.

Micheal kept his grin and threw out two $200 chips. Confident? Naaah xD He tried to smother his grin, "Hey Leo, Kai, come play"
Leo groaned, "You up for it?" he was looking at Kai. Then, to Micheal, "You sure? You don't have a chance I come in."

Kai looked up as Leo spoke and then cast her gaze back down and gently shook her head. She didn't much feel like playing any games.
Mai however, kept the straightest of stony faces and threw in 4 $200 chips, only allowing the smallest of grins to spread across her face.
Was she bluffing? or was she that confident in her hand?

The game continued this way for quite some time. Leo hadn't joined, saying that it wouldn't be fair for either of them to have a two second game. In fact, he hadn't joined because he wanted to be sure that Kai was okay. The demons wouldn't be able to touch her or her mind for a few months more when The Xuan Wu was raised to his power once more... but until then, The Dark Lord could only do so much.
Micheal chucked out al of his remaining chips, studying Mai. He hadn't swapped one card since he'd gotten his hand.

Still as confident as ever, and seemingly unswayed by her opponents confidence, she threw in the rest of her own chips and sat back, folding her arms with a smug grin.
"Alright then tough guy... whatcha got?"
Kai clenched her eyes shut to try and settle her thumping head, but it was no use, again the room felt stuffy and difficult to breathe, but there was no dark presence in her head, just the cluttered insecure feeling.

Micheal squinted at Mai and chucked down 5 kings. He glanced up and saw Leo looking at him, unthrilled. Leo started talking in a stern teasing manner, "Mai... if you have even one card that is not a king... you win."
Micheal's eyes practically bugged out of his head, "What!?"
"You're playing the wrong hand for the rules you've set down. The regal cards.. count as nothing"
Gee, Poor Micheal. He looked wounded.
Leo sat back down and put his hand ontop of Kai's in a comforting way. "It shouldn't be too long"
Xuan Wu hadn't moved, but Simone seemed to wake up then. She turned around on Xuan's lap and looked over his shoulder. She yawned and turnd back around quietly to snuggle herself into her father's arms again.

Mai grinned smuggly as he threw down his cards, even before Leo revealed his mistake via the rules. She put down her hand... four aces and a 10.
"Oh yeah man, pass the moolah." She was grinning in the most self confident way possible.
((Aces aren't regal are they? If so i'll change it...))
Kai was briefly startled from her thought by the hand placed on her own, but when she heard Leo's word's of comfort she gave him a small smile and nodded her head in thanks, blushing slightly.
She'd forgotten where they were going... if she'd even known at all.. and she didn't know why either.

Micheal grinned again, sheepishly, "who said anything about a prize?"
There was then a small jolt and a quiet "thrum" noise. "We're here!" Micheal declared, putting down his cards and standing up.
Suddenly Leo went into action again. "Micheal. Front. I'll take the back"
Micheal slouched a little, remembering why he was in such a cool city again. He wondered if they'd get at least a little something done... wait... Simone. They'd get plenty done.

Mai growled wolf-like at Michael briefly, but as they touched down, she zipped over to Kai's side, attentive and alert, no one was laying a paw on her best friend. She'd promised... certain people, that she would watch over Kai.

"My Lord..." Leo shook John's arm ever so lightly, but then increased it when he got absolut;y no response. John moaned.
"Daddy, wake up. I want t see Aunty Kwan now. Please?" Simone gleamed as John squinted down at her and he smiled lightly when she gave him a kiss on his cheek. "Come on daddy" she jumped off f him and tried to pull him off of the seat. He inhaled deeply and stood up with a lot of effort, only to sway a little and get supported by Leo. Simone watched him with worry clear in her expression.
"It -it's ok. S-Sweetheart, I'll be fine."
She reluctantly nodded and waited as the side doors opened up. They all began to descend the steps that had been placed there. Micheal, like instructed, was in front.
"Kai. Mai. you two next please" Leo said in an unintentionally gruff voice. His throat was begining to feel very very dry and rough. Swallowing was hurting.

Mai took Kai's hand and walked forward, but Kai wouldn't move, her eyes were on Leo, who seemed unwell... the grey patch in his aura still worried her. After giving him a concerned look for a moment, she followed silently and obediently after Mai.

When the girls were out of the jet and everyone was on the ground, they loaded into a black limo. At first it had been a very old fashioned silver limo. But, even being in the state he was, Xuan Wu had refused to go inside it. So Leo had called a black one. Now, they were riding inside of it.
"What are we doing first?" Micheal asked, his excitement bubbling again.
