[Lets try the genre that Blitz and I have justs tarted with. It's awesome so far. Modern Medieval Fantasy]

The cold wind swept across the empty street, blowing at the few of the leaves on the wet pavement. The storm was over, but the water hadn't finished gushing from all of the gutters, flushing for the ground, with no drains to escape into once of the ground.
Wet footsteps echoed down the street. A man in his late twenties, so it seemed, walked calmly down, stopping at an inn, opening the door, and disappearing inside the building.
Once he'd stepped inside of the inn, John's eyes went blank; his face rigid. After a moment, he looked around, noticed his companion at the back, and went to join him.

And cue suspect... yep, there he was, crossing the bars threshold to join the other shady character at the back. Kai watched him all the time, her shy interest went unnoticed.
She was always there, watching. But he never noticed her. He was handsome and he triggered an aching and longing in her heart.
She'd long since lost her only reason for living, so her life was spent watching the love lives of others... or the family moments.
She longed for a reason to belong, a reason to be needed.
But it didn't matter... she might as well have been invisible.

"She's watching you again, My Lord" Micheal said. He was in his late teens, though just as tall and muscled as his father.
"She can not see anything. Nothing matters" John confirmed, like he did every night.
"I think she's suspecting something"
John shook his head, his eyes going blank. Micheal's eyes did the same. When they went back to normal, he looked down at the table, nodding once.

"Now, to business" John sat up straighter, his long black hair, tied in a high ponytail, still draping over the back of the chair.

The younger one had noticed her again, so she quickly turned her eyes away and bit her lip. The giult over whelming her again. She stood and payed her tab before leaving the bar. She erased all signs of her sadness as she passed.
She'd built up a facade for herself, she was a lezbian to the casual observer. She was interested in men. She even had a 'lover' who was really just her best friend. It helped her feel a bit more solid.
You see, Kai wasn't a whole person anymore, after being injured, certain parts of her were now machine, it took away some of your humanity... feeling no man could ever love you because you were part mechanical. The design was good, you could hardly notice that one eye area and one arm were really fake, they looked perfect though she made sure to hide her eyes behind dark glasses and her body was always completely clothed in black leather.... her top was high collared as well.
Outside her bike waited, black with flashes of lightning. She got on and began kick starting the engine.

"She's gone, My Lord" Micheal seemed to brighten up.
John didn't even look up to where the woman had sat before, "I know" he said calmly. "But we must talk Micheal"
Micheal seemed to blush.
"Yes?..." he hesitated, "I would like to speak to you about Simone actually"
"I know" John seemed amused.
"Of coarse you do... but" he couldn't help himself, "Can I no guard anyone else? Please? I mean no disrespect to your daughter, honestly, but I swear she just does things to-" he cut himself off, restraining almost.
"You will stay with Simone" John said seriously
"Yes" Micheal looked back at the table. It hadn't been a question.
"Good. I will see you again here tomorrow morning. Until then I wish you to go and bring her back from school"
"Take her straight home" Micheal nodded his understanding.
"It's your home too now, Micheal." John said in a warmer voice before standing up.
Micheal quickly saluted him, trying to be discrete, and watched as he left the inn.

Micheal sighed, standing up also, much more casual now. He had had a few drinks of water before John had turned up and so he payed for them, and went to pick up Simone.

Kai had gone to her spot. The rooftop of the tallest building in the city. She sat, dangling her legs over the side, staring out mindlessly.
Why did she even bother going to that bar. He never looked at her and she never said anything to him. Deep down she knew she could never be loved the way she wanted to be, so there was really no use in trying.
"I wish... i could just jump..." She looked down at the floor hundreds of story's below.
"But to what purpose?" She sighed and looked back out at the dazzling lights of the city below. She let the wind whip her hair around her face, the moonlight playing tricks with her eyes as she watched, breathing in the fresh evening air.

"DADDY!!!" Simone yelled, running into her father's arms.
"Hi Simone. Did you have a good day?"
"The best!"
"And did Micheal embarrass you by collecting you from class again today?"
Simone looked over her shoulder at Micheal, who was now unpacking Simone's school bag, apparently not listening in.
"No. He waited for me outside today" Simone nodded seriously. Then, into John's ear, "Is uncle Bai coming over later? (Micheal's dad)
"No Simone. uncle Bai will be over next week"
She pouted, dropping her arms and walking over to Micheal. "Take me to uncle Bai!" she demanded.
Micheal looked up, "My Lord?"
"Not tonight Simone"
Simone frowned and run up the hall and into her room.

"Thankyou Micheal"
"My Lord" and that was it.

Kai had been sitting where she was for some time when she heard footsteps behind her. She stood and turned... sure enough, it was him.
"What do you want with me!" She cried, taking a step backwards before she realised there WAS no backwards. She bit her lip, he had her cornered.
The man sneered and drew a lazer knife from his pocket, spinning it in his hand. He was easily six feet tall and of ragged appearance. His clothes were torn, his hair and beard matted with all sorts of grime, most of which Kai didn't even want to think about. he had one crudely crafted cyber arm, no flesh or clothing covered it, it was exposed in all its mechanical glory. Perched upon his still fleshy shoulder was a crow the size of a large cat, its eyes as red as blood.
"Still no results Render... you know what happens when i don't get results.." He sneered as he paused briefly "I'll have your tongue this time, because you're sure to squeal to someone sooner or later." He said, approaching her slowly.
Kai panicked.
"No wait! I haven't told anyone! Please!" She begged, debating whether or not to jump off the building, anything to just escape.
"Nah ah... that's not how it works."
Before she could make her escape around him he grabbed her and swung her round, pinning her to the floor, away from the ledge.
"Please no... please don't..." Kai wailed, trying her hardest to break free of the man.
"Hold still bitch!" He said, holding her mouth open with one hand as she flailed. In went the knife and Kai barely had time to scream.
"One more lesson.... soon you'll do as i say." The man said, standing and feeding the bloodied object to his crow before kicking her and walking away, laughing evilly.

Kai was left, kneeling down, doubled over in agony as she gripped her bleeding mouth the blood oozing between her fingers in dark red torrents. She slowly rocked backwards and forwards, her vision already shifting in and out of focus as the blood began to pool at her knees.
Someone please.... she wailed inwardly, preying that somewhere out there someone would hear. I need an angel now.... or anything... just someone... I'd give anything to not be invisible.... help me Tears flowed along her cheeks, mingling to liquefy the blood that was pooling at her feet. The stub that was her tongue stung something fierce, her saliva serving to heal the wound, but also adding to her already immense pain.

If John had not connected himself to the woman in the bar earlier then he would not have felt her presence now. He ran from his room to the front door of the apartment. His sword was not in its case. He swore under his breath, making a detour into the training room, grabbing the Black Serpent and running out of the door.

I did not take him long to find her. The connection was still present and her agony was burning. She most likely would not know him, but that was fine. Kneeling down in front of her, he took her face silently into his hands. He held her head down which steady hands as a small amount of golden glow appeared underneath his hands, absorbing through her cheeks. It would be warm, but he hoped she she would not notice. This would stop the bleeding. He held her face down with no effort at all so that she could choke up whatever extra blood was still in her mouth.

As he had just been ready to go to bed, he was in a shabby black top and black shorts; holes worn into both knees. He wore no shoes, and he had taken his hair out. It fell forward over his cheeks and his shoulders.

Despite her dizziest hopes, someone DID find her upon that building right when she thought she was going to drown in her own blood.
As he held her face and soothed her pain she didn't notice who it was. As he tilted her head down she began to cough violently, all the blood that had seeped into her long splattering the roof at her knees.
She couldn't stop trembling after she was done and she continued crying softly before she finally managed to raise her terrified eyes to meet those of her saviour, it was him.
He pupils dilated in the darkness, awing at his presence. She wanted to ask him how on earth he found her... but her voice was gone.
Ashamed that he had been forced out of bed, or so she assumed by his appearance, to her help, she turned her eyes away, her gaze had been filled with gratitude, mingled in amongst the fear and sadness.
Thankyou... She thought, the thought at least settling her consciousness even if he couldn't hear her.

"Come" John said gently, with a quiet sigh, standing up and gently pulling her with him. He picked her up, not thinking much, and began walking back. Occasionally his eyes would turn white, and his legs just walked as if they had been programmed. Soon, they were down on the street, where a new black car waited.
John opened the door, placed the woman inside, quickly did up her seatbelt and closed the door gain behind her. He walked around the car and got into the front passenger's seat.
The car started up, and they headed back to his apartment building.
It did not take long for them to get back up to the 6th floor.
John placed Kai down gently on the couch and went to sit on the couch opposite, watching her.

Micheal came out, groggily, and stopped when he saw Kai, his eyes widening.
John didn't look away from Kai, "Go back to bed Micheal. I will explain in the morning"
Micheal shrugged, turned around, and walked back out.

Kai lost consciousness in her saviours arms before they even reached the car, so she lay silently the whole trip, and equally as silently as he lay her on the couch, but she had woken by now... unable to sleep, his face wouldn't leave her. She kept her eyes closed, so she looked like she still slept, but a single tear squeezed out from under her closed eye lids and dripped down the side of her face.
She was laying on something soft, though she wasn't sure what, or where. She heard voices, one man telling another to go back to bed. She could tell someone was watching her, but she didn't open her eyes, for fear it would be him.

John stayed where he was all night. Occasionally he asked the maid to bring him tea, but other then that, everything was silent. It was another 4 hours until Simone would be awake, ready for school. It was Thursday.
At about 3am in the morning, his eyes were beginning to close involuntarily and he gave in to sleep. His face serene as he sat on the couch, opposite the unconscious woman, his chin on his chest, his eyes closed; looking as if he was thinking.

Slowly creeping her tear stained eyes open Kai looked over at the man who had saved her life. She had so much she wanted to ask him...
Who was he? how had he found her? How had he known? Had he heard her pleas? Was he an angel?
Her throat was as dry as a desert, but as she tried to swallow, she found it alarmingly hard to do so, the large muscle that had once aided in pushing her saliva back and down her throat was gone.
She felt the sorrow welling up again. Surely no one would ever know of his horrific deeds now. She raised her bionic hand and removed the glove that hid it, staring in hatred at the false skin that made it look almost as real as her original limbs. He'd taken that too... her right arm was the first thing to go... he then staged it to look like an accident had occurred... she'd kept quiet out of fear... when still she could not give him what he wanted he took one of her eyes and again made it look like an accident... and again she'd stay quiet. But after he'd raped and tortured her she'd worked up the gall to tell someone... her supposed 'lover' or bestfriend who implored her to tell the authorities... well now she never could.
Then it hit her... surely he'd go after Mia. She lay there rigid, her fears racing through her head as she stared at the ceiling from behind her dark glasses, which she noticed were still present.

John's eyes shot open, his head jerking upward. He looked back and forward once before focusing on Kai. He gave her a reassuring smile when he saw her alarmed expression. "Everyone that you have connection with have been put into protection" he didn't elaborate. He rarely did, unless asked. And in this circumstance, he doubted that he would receive a question, under the circumstances.
He sighed, pulling his hair back and tying it up. "I suppose you have some questions" he looked at her sheepishly. "Here" he handed her a note pad and a pen from somewhere and wen to sit beside her so that he could read whatever she would write. If she was going to write. He made sure that his movements were slow, trying not to catch her off guard.
