Bali gave a playful growl and rolled onto her back instead of the usual which would have been trying to shake him off. She huffed at the air, leaving large clouds of mist in the air. She snapped at the mist but nothing happened and it disappointed. "Come here you-" she stopped midway between rolling back up onto her feet as she saw Ahnghel and Wolfwing appear back into the sky with another wolven and fly toward the cave. The looked very peculiar, flying upside down.

Cyrus crawled up Bali's belly and looked at her in the face, blowing his own puff of mist from his breath onto her face and giggling again.
"Tag!" He said, giggling merrily, tail wagging at super speed.

Nirikka flew quietly behind the two wolves that had tracked her, who, unknown to her, where named Ahnghel and Wolfwing.

Ahnghel continued his flight, only to then land at the den entrance. "Lupin! We've returned with the supposed intruder. She seems nice enough, though..." He stated absently before padding up to the hellhound.

The massive beast, clearly the alpha, rose to a seated position. His tail was raised in a dominant position as he scrutinized the newfound female. "State your name and reason for being within my pack's lands." Straight to business, wasn't he. To make matters worse, he was a little grumpy and upset with the changes to his persona.

Nirikka landed with the other two wolves, seeing beyond them the pack Alpha, a strongly built hellhound...not one to be meddled with.

"My name is Nirikka, sir, and i am sorry but I intruded looking for food, only I got a little bit lost..." Nirikka answered the Alpha's question in a clear voice trying not to shiver in fright, her head held lower than the males but leaving her face still visible.

Lupin then stood, approaching Nirikka and standing before her in all of his gargantuan glory. His head was held high, tail lifted in dominance. Not one to be messed with period. "...I see. You were merely in search of food..." He idly murmered before turning towards Maia and then back to Ahnghel and Wolfwing. ".....You may stay here for a while, feed, and then you may be on your way. Unless, of course, you'll accept myself as your alpha. You seem to be without a pack, obviously, and therefore are suceptable to being recruited. Therefore, I ask you to join this one...but only if you wish it." He observed her for another moment before turning and walking towards the back of the den. "Come to me when you have your answer." And with that, he went to be alone...the darkness within him steadily growing and making him more and more reclusive.

Ahnghel gave Nirikka a weak smile (as best as a wolf could, at least)...before approaching her. "Eh, strange. Usually, Lupin is a lot less jumpy around newcomers. Something doesnt seem right with him. I hope he's....okay.." He idly mentioned, before turning to Wolfwing. "What do you think, Wolfwing?"

Maia listened as her mate extended a crude invitation to the newcomer. This girl's aura was as white and pristine as Ahnghel's but the more of these Aura's she saw the more her heart ached when she saw Lupin's. She didn't understand yet... so she was worried. Was she losing him? Was he going to just die without visible reason like so many others had around her?
She heard Lupin move away, his warmth leaving its place beside her, and her heart nearly burst with sorrow. She stood and padded towards the mouth of the cave quietly. She didn't give a reason, she just had to get out, she felt ill in the chest and wanted nothing more then to cry out in anguish as if she'd lost her mate. But she hadn't had she?
How she longed to look into his eyes and tell him everything was OK... but it wasn't.
She listened to Cyrus and Bali playing for a brief moment before she continued out into the snow, relying on her sense of smell to guide her home when she was done.
She came to a frozen river, she could tell it was, because it was a thick layer of ice beneath her paws and she could hear the water shifting beneath.
The ice seemed to move beneath her paws, so she tried to judge whether it would be smart to cross or go back. She decided to cross and began carefully making her way across the ice.

Wolfwing had been silent until now. Seeing no reason to speak. Wolven had to earn his respect before he spoke to them in any depth... and this new female had not done so yet.
However after she was welcomed to the pack.. however less friendily then he himself was, Ahnghel spoke to him, and he replied.
"I have not known Alpha as long as you have bright one. So if you think something is wrong, there likely is..." The white female that was obviously the alphess then walked past him and out of the cave. She looked most distressed.
"OK.... something IS amiss..." He concluded.

Ahnghel nodded before glancing in the direction of Lupin's retreating form. "Mm. It troubles me to see my friend in such a state. Perhaps I should go and speak with him? Maybe it will shed some light on this whole situation." Ahnghel was smart, but there were some things he just didn't understand; like the need for being alone. Of course, before now, Lupin never left Maia's side...except maybe to go and hunt...but whenever he was in the den, he was at his beloved mate's side. What changed this? What was making Lupin so distant? So....dark?

Lupin, however, had no knowledge of what was going on around him at the time. He simply rested in the back of the den, head placed upon his crossed forpaws. His gaze lingered upon the members of his pack, though no emotion was shown within those eyes of his....

Bali noticed Maia walking out of the den and thought to go after her but then she had another thought, of leaving her be; and this one fought against her more. She had a sinking feeling and turned over onto her belly, staring after the alphess as she disappeared into the great white.

Cyrus lay on Bali's back and chewed on one of her ears.
"That lady was sad.... we should follow." He said, his voice garbled around mouthfuls of ear.

Maia continued carefully across the cracking frozen river, trying her hardest to stay where the ice felt firmest beneath her paws but it was very hard.
Perhaps it is i who is making Lupin so sad? She thought as she continued across. What if i don't make him happy anymore? She took another step and there was a sicking crunch, the ice disappeared beneath her paw and next she knew her back right leg was stuck in a prison of ice. Maia wasn't the kind to cry for help, she just set about trying to unwedge her leg.

Nirikka listened to the Alpha's proposal and thought about it, she laid down and flopped her tail over her hind legs, her front paws crossed in a very lady-like position, she was just getting somewhere when she was passed by the form of a beautiful female wolf, she looked rather depressed, perhaps she was the Alphess? she knew not this pack, but for some reason, there was a...disturbance here, a darkness, hiding, yet slowly growing...she began to think again, lone wolf..pack wolf..lone wolf..pack wolf.........pack wolf. She decided she would join the pack, it had been awfully lonely as a non pack wolf...she had been since her pack all died, since she was a pup, finally she had people who offered her a home, so she gratefully accepted it, walking slowly towards the back of the cave she found the pack leader..."sorry to disturb you, but I have decided to join you..." she concluded her statement with a bow to the alpha.

Bali nodded stood up, making sure she didn’t drop Cyrus. She hunched her shoulders as she leapt down a slope and trotted after Maia. Soon she heard the scraping, rushing noise of an ice river and was careful where she stepped; one could not always tell if they were already walking on it and they could collapse at any time.
Being careful-footed she took a few more steps. That was when Maia came into view. Bali suddenly gave a low whine and took a few steps closer to the alphess, nudging her paw and digging at the ice around it.

(Heavenhound and hellhound hybrids are usually a mixture of both. They can be white and black, or gray. It doesn't really make a difference.)

At Nirikka's approach, the Alpha lifted his gigantic head and regarded her. His long, whip-like tail gently beat against the ground beneath him, before finally he grunted. "As you wish. A few things you should know. Maia, the starch white female, is your alphess. I, of course, am your alpha. Ahnghel is beta and Wolfwing is gamma. For now, seeing as how I do not know you very well, you will be of lower ranking. Until you prove your worth, this ranking will stick with you. Am I clear? Or do you have any other questions?" He inquired. Strange, usually, he wouldn't take the trouble to state all of these boundaries....but now something seemed off. However, that's when he felt something weird happen. His heart twisted, as if something was the matter. His gargantuan head lifted; his ears perked forward...before finally he realized that one, no...three members of his pack had disappeared. He abruptly stood, emitting a gutteral snarl. "Ahnghel! Where are Maia, Bali, and Cyrus?!" He bellowed, the spines along his back rising irrately.

Ahnghel was troubled. He didn't like seeing his Alpha, his friend, behave in such a strange manner. To top that off, the relationship between Maia and Lupin seemed to be dwindling rapidly. Confusion was etched upon the beautaeous features of the pureblood heavenhound...and it was rare for this to be so. "I am worried...terribly worried..." Just as soon as he stated this, he heard the bellow from his Alpha's maw. Ahnghel stood abruptly, at attention. "Ah...The three of them left the pack den. I am uncertain of their reasoning behind it, though Maia seemed upset about something... I do believe that Bali and Cyrus went to check on her.."
