[Cloud Strife]

Jake scowled visibly once he was told to scrub the deck. A groan sounded as he glared towards the Cap'n. "Fine. Doesn't mean it'll be perty though, seein' as how I'm 'still learnin'." An arrogant smirk spread across his features as he turned to look at the Cap'n defiantly. "Besides, I dun see why I gotta do ever'thing ya say. Seein' as how I ain't a full fledged pirate. Hmph." With that, he stalked off; knowing full well that he'd probably do the best job he could....even if he said he wasn't.

Kutuni spun around on hjer heels as fast as she could when she heard someone enter and address her, she sighed with relief when it wasn't the captain as she would have no place talking to him and she had a plan to avoid him as much as possible. "I was walking down he passage and simply stumbled into the room" she smiled and took a step toward the map, not taking her eyes of the pirate, she glanced down at the desk and the map, it was drawn and worded very finely and she couldn't undersatand one bit of it. "I think i'll keep to text" she more or less said to herself.

Kaine frowned as the boy made his comment. "You'll learn and as long as your on my ship you will do what i say."

Zac chuckled and walked closer to the girl his eyes fixed on her till he reached the map. "I cant believe an accomplished stowaway like yourself doesnt know how to read maps." He shook his head and caressed the parchment before them.
He pointed to a spot on the map. "That's where we were." He said tapping the spot. "And this is where we are going" He brushed his hand across the map till he patted another place upon the map.

((Kutuni should see the uncanny resemblance bewteen Kaine and him shouldn't she?))

Jake continued to laugh good-naturedly as the Cap'n got annoyed with his comment before he sped off in the direction of the deck. He needed to get crackin' if he wanted to gain the Cap'n's favor. Ugh..that also meant...getting in the favor of Slade. He was most definitely NOT looking foreward to that. Jake didn't know why, but Slade just irritated him. Perhaps it was their little confrontation that spiked his immidiate dislike for the older man, he didn't know. However, he did know that he couldn't stand him, so he'd try to avoid him as best as possible. As for the women, they seemed nice enough, though he idly wondered why they were aboard a pirate ship of all things.

Slade, meanwhile, had finished his task of setting up the women's quarters and was aimlessly wandering about the ship. In fact, he wandered straight into the same room that Zac and Kutuni were in; the map room. "Eh? What're ye two doin' in here? Miss Kutuni? Zac? Oi...Zac, shouldn't ye be doin' some work? Or have ye not spoken to da Cap'n yet?"

Kutuni nodded aimlessly as if she had understood, yet she actually had only the slightest clue in whst he was pointing at. She did notice a slight resemblance between Zac and the captain... but she didmissed it as she took it as coinsidence. Then Slade walked in and greeted them, before addressing Zac. She smiled o herself and looked down at the map, trying so ever hard to work out its meaning.

Zac turned and saluted the leuintenant. "The Cap'n' gave me the afternoon off sir! Though i will gladly do any work you assign me." He stood straight and official to the lueitenant, something he didn't do for the captain. Many crew members said he was pushing his luck to far with that, but Zac look at it as 'he's my brother what will he do to me?'

Slade chuckled a bit at Zac's words. "Naw, it's fine. Though t'would be nice if ya gave the new kid a hand with the deck. He's a stowaway, but dun be givin' him a hard time. He's liable to whack ya one, lemme tell ya. Near took my head clean off wit that aim o' his. In other words, dun go n' tick him off. T'wouldn't be fun." A smirk was upon his face the whole time as he spoke to Zac, until turning to Kutuni. "Ya needa hand wit readin' that, darlin'?" He'd ask good-naturedly. "I cain teacha how tah read it, if ya wanna learn."

Meanwhile, Jake was fuming. He was having a horrible time with scrubbing the deck. However, it didn't stop him from trying his hardest. Ugh, it was going to be a loooong trip if he was stuck with this job, that's for sure.

"I think i'll pass" Kutuni smiled thankfully that she wasn't being treated completely like the young boy. "Do you know where i'm staying tonight, i havn't had much time to get my bareings" she admitted and looked at Zac, "You're actually volunteering?!?!" she was impressed, interested... a guy who actually VOLUNTEERES!!!

Kaine had been standing outside the map room listening to the ensuing conversation. Now he pushed open the door and walked in "Kutuni, if you would please come with me i will show you your room. Also later i would wish for you to take Luietenant Slade up on his offer as you are on my ship and map reading is a nesescity. Zac you are to go show the new cabin boy how to scrub a deck properly please." He dropped the officially tone and looked at Slade. "You may do as you wish but there is a tear in the upper sail please instruct someone to fix it when you're able" With that he gave a smile and a curt nod gesturing for Kutuni to follow as he left the room.

When the Cap'n suddenly came into the map room, Slade jumped slightly; surprised. "Eh, right. Aye aye Cap'n. I'll hop to it. As for Miss Kutuni, how 'bout I start teachin' ya how tah read the map, tahnight after ever'one's duties are completed. How's tha sound?" With a grin, he'd head towards the door, not completely leaving until Kutuni responded to his suggestion.

Jake, on the other hand, was scowling. He was not the happiest person at the moment, seeing as how he was the one stuck with scrubbing the deck. He had been washing for at least thirty minutes and quite frankly, his arms were tired. With a dejected sigh, he continued on, glaring at the other crewmembers her snickered and sneered in his direction. Hmph, what did they know anyways? .....Everything, that's what. Another sigh erupted from him as he started to grumble about how he didn't even know if he wanted to be a pirate, so why the hell did he have to do this...yada yada yada.

Kutuni took a sharp breeth when Kaine entered, 'do i have to' she thought but wouldn't say it out loud for no apparent reason. "coming and sure" she answered both requests and followed after Kaine, he sure was walking brisk. She had to jog a few times to catch up.

Kaine turned as Kutuni followed. He continued walking while still facing her. "I hope you'll find your room to your liking. I think you'll find its better then what an unpaying 'passanger' receives" He smirkedand then turned forward again.

'geez... and i thought i was already being treated like royalty before paying' she thought sarcastically and rolled her eyes, poking her tongue at him when he turned around. "And what do 'non-paying' stowaways recieve?" she inquired sneekily, even with everything... she just had to polay it safe until the came to dock... then hello gems 'n jewels

Slade went about his duties for a while, making sure to issue the order to mend the torn sail while doing so. However, once his job was completed, he had nothing to do. With a sigh, he headed straight for the Cap'n's quarters; giving a knock upon the door. "Hey Cap'n! You in? I be curious to know whether or not ye can give me some other work tah do befer the day's done." This was his short inquiry as he awaited further instruction. Of course, this would only work if the Cap'n was even there.
