Pirates

Let's see... where to begin... *ponders for a moment or so by tapping fingers on keys lightly*

Set in the time of kingdoms and knights, the seas were also filled with merchant ships, carrying goods in large amounts, weaponry, precious gems and so many more valuables... these of which the pirates stole (or in some terms, 'borrowed' without permission). Another group of ships were the government ships, of which the pirates despised... and of coarse the Pirates, which the government despised.

[glow=red,2,300]SETTING:[/glow] The wind billowed in the black sails. The majestic 'Wave Walker' sat moored to the dock of 'port imperial' its fake government flag billowing in the sea wind. Men bustled about loading crates of food and barrels of fresh water into the cargo hold. On the deck stood a figure who stood watching them eagerly also watching the wharf for trouble. The ship was a large sturdy vessel built from parts from all over the world.... most of them 'borrowed without permission and with no intention of ever returning'. Its railings were hand carved mahogany and the seahorse carved into the bow of oak.
The captain smiled, his ship was safe disguised as a simple merchant ship. Soon they would leave for an island with no name where it was rumoured to hold riches of huge proportions.
Soon.... they would be on their way to glory.

Kutuni stepped into the crowd. She did not blend in very well as the crowd was made up of mainly males, although no one noticed her because they were too busy with the ship to notice. She sidestepped around a couple of screaming children and then out of the crowd. She was trying to walk casually but it was hard when you were finding a ship to stow away on.

She walked along a plank that led into the ship's stomach. When she was in, a few of the crew spotted her, all males. What was she supposed to do now... but she had a few ways. The first was... She put on a worried expression and ran up to one of the more muscled men "Have you seen the captain?" she said in a freaked out tone. This one always worked, if she kept it going long enough. But little did she know, the captain was close by.

Kaine walkeed up and placed his hand on the girls shoulder "Right here, what's the problem." His face was serious, a poorly stitched scar on his right cheek flexed as he frowned.

Kutuni gritted her teeth, he wasn't suposed to actually be around. She had to think of something fast, "Do you make it a habbit to but in on peoples convosations... I said 'has he seen him'... not... 'I need to talk to him'." Her face was calm as she said this and she tried to put on a sweet and innocent smile. She then tilted her head slightly, "Be right back" she lied and started to walk behing a bunch of crates.

Kaine smirked and crossed his arms. "Nice try stawaway" He said walking over gripping her by the back of the shirt anddumping her back on the warf.
"Why don't you try, that ship over there." He said pointing to a merchant ship berthed not far from his.

Katy studied the ships on the wharf, which one to choose....she saw merchant ships and government flagged ships, but none to which she felt would be alright. Then she spotted one called 'Wave Walker', it had a government flag billowing in the wind but the air about the ship screamed pirate. Katy stepped to wards the 'Wave Walker' and noticed what looked like its captain throwing out an already attempted stowaway. Katy shrugged, anyone can be persuaded. She clutched her purse full of gold that her mother had given her and made her way up the plank, green dress and red hair rustling wildly in the wind. She reached the captain and smiled "I'm Katy Coswell, and I'm here to ask you for take me aboard, I have 15 gold pieces that I can offer you, and I'm a good cook. If you take me aboard I promise to stay out of the way and pull my own wait, like any of the men on your ship." She stood anxiously, breathless in after her brave speech, staring at the man, too young in her mind to be a captain.

Kutuni hit the floor! She grabbed her bag and stood up to go look for another entrance onto the ship, it was harder then usual, then again... she usually only boarded Merchant ships and they had careless captains. Good Luck she chuckled in her head as she walked along the decking under her feet. She had made up her mind about boarding this ship, and when she made up her mind... SHE MADE UP HER MIND! She was going to board it no matter what!

Kaine brushed his hands as he watched the girl walk off. Then he heard another talk to him. He looked at the pouch of coins and surveyed it a moment. "Keep talking," He said in a sly tone stretching out his hands awaiting payment. "Never had a cook before have we lads!" All the crew laughed loudly while they finished off loading the ship.
"We're ready to go Cap'n" Called one of the shipmen
"Right, prepare to shove off then!" He called and then turned to the girl again. "Right miss.... errr.... well you're hired but dont expect a pleasure cruise"

"I'm not, just anything to get me outta this hole." She said while counting out the 15 gold pieces she had promised, she handed it over to the Captain and moved passed him on to the ship. She looked around it and knew that if any government official had inspected it they would have been done for piracy straight away. Katy turned back to the Captain and offered her hand "It's a pleasure to be aboard your ship Cap'n, I've already told you my name, Katy Coswell at your service, but I have yet to learn yours."

Kaine held out his scarred hand "Pleased to meet ye' Katy ma'am. I be known as Kaine... Just Kaine or captain Kaine which ever it is you be preferring." He gently kissed the girls hand and then rushed to the wheel ready to stear the ship out of harbour

Katy watched the Captain walk off and turned to a bustling crew member. "Oi, you!" She said, trying to sound as un noble as she could. "Could ye show me the kitchen?" She tubby man turned and looked at her weirdly. "Ye know a kiten, were ya cook yer food an all!" He blinked "I know what a bloody kiten is, but wha I don kno is why yer assin for it?" She walked closer to him witha stern look What ye never heard of a female pirate before? What kinda world are ya livin in, look aroun ya, see that changes?" She flapped a hand as if to move the conversation along "Eny way, I asked ya were the bloody hell the kiten was, and I'm septin you to tell me." It surprised her how quickly she took up there tongue, the words rolled nicely and lazily over her tongue, and it didn't even seem weird when her voice was still as sweet and womanly as it was before she boarded. "Hmmff" said the redding man "This way miss" and he led her of the the kitchen. she stood in the middle and looked around, she couldnt believe this is what she had signed up for, a god damned pigs sty. No dish had ever been washed, food lay rotten on the floor, in the corner there was a large pot of molding, rotting goo. It didn't even take 30 seconds before she was running out onto the deck and spewing her guts up. Wiping her mouth she had hoped no one had seen her, seeing as they hadn't even dock off yet.

Kutuni quickly moved around to the back of the ship. "Would you look at that... that would be my ticket on this vessel" she smiled to herself as she looked up at a silver chain that hung from the back of the boat, it looked as if it was only there for decoration, she just hoped it would hold long enough for her to climb.

Kutuni noticed that the crew had stopped loading and that they were heaving up the ramp. She tutted "These pirates aren't going to be the easiest to fool" she mumbled quietly before making a running jump for the chain. She had it! Now she just had to wait for the ship to start moving... once it had she guessed that the crews attention would be on getting the ship out of harbour, not on who was passing them.

Kaine yelled in his hardest sea voice. "Right you currs, all hands to stations! I want this ship seaworthy yesterday!" Instantly the men rushed about unfurling sails and securing down any loose objects on the deck.
Kaine felt the tug as the wind caught in the sails, soon they were on their way out of the harbour. Kaine called to his luietenant. "When we're out to sea, hoist our colours." He grinned as the man gave an evil chuckle and saluted. "Aye Cap'n'" And with that he rushed off, leaving kaine to steer the might Wave-walker.
