[Tifa Lockhart]

Everything was a blur for Miles as he'd waited for the pain of the gunshot to settle in, but when the sound came but there was no accompanying pain but instead a jolt that sent him staggering into his desk he was awestruck.
"Wright!" He yelled, shocked by the crumpled mess of blue that lay bleeding on his floor. He dashed over to kneel by his friend, his shaking hands immediately finding the bleeding wound in the side of the Defense Attorney's chest, scrambling to try and cover the wound.
"W-What were you-- w-wright!?" He stuttered, unsure what to say and panicked for what to do.

Without thinking he wrenched off his maroon blazer and pressed the wad of thick fabric to his friend's wound. "Stay with me, Wright." He said, his voice thick with anxiety as he dashed over to get his phone, hurriedly returning to apply pressure to his makeshift effort to stop the profuse bleeding. He hurriedly dialed for security with the other hand.
"Security! Lock the building down! I was just attacked in my office, Shelley DeKiller."
DeKiller!? The voice exclaimed.
"Do NOT let him escape, i want him captured NOW!" Edgeworth's voice was a snarl, "And i need an ambulance."
Are you hurt sir?
"No not me idiot! Just do it, and hurry." He hung up immediately, looking back down at his friend. "Are you still with me, Wright?"

Phoenix could hear the other man's voice. it was Edgeworth. Phoenix winced when Edgeworth pressed on the wound to stop the bleeding, shuddering from the pain.
He heard Edgeworth ask if he was there and attempted to answer, but he was too weak to say anything. His vision was blurred but when he opened his eyes he could faintly make out the shape of Miles leaning over him, before he lost consciousness.

"Wright!" Edgeworth yelled desperately when his friend opened his eyes and looked at him for a second before his eyes fluttered shut, muscles going slack beneath Miles' supporting arm.
"Phoenix!"

Gumshoe arrived a moment later with Ema Skye close in toe, the two of them look horribly flustered.
"Mr. Edgeworth are you--" Gumshoe had begun as he raced through the door, but he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Phoenix laying unconscious and bloody in the prosecutor's arms. "W-What happened?" He gasped, an arm whipping around to support Ema as she gave a gasp and a small shriek of terror.

"Not now!" Edgeworth yelled at the ex-detective, fixing the tall man with eyes that looked to be filled with tears, "Where is the ambulance!?"
As if in reply two strong men pushed their way past Gumshoe and Ema and raced to Edgeworth and Phoenix. They urged Miles back, hurriedly dressing the bleeding wound to try and slow the gushing, before loading Phoenix onto a stretcher. Edgeworth didn't waste any time in following them, only stopping to call back a request to Gumshoe.
"Call Wright's family!"

((Have Maya answer the phone, kay? The one at the office.))

Maya was filing case information at the time that the phone rang. She hadn't been expecting any calls from someone other than a client, so she walked over and picked up the phone, reciting her well-practiced greeting.
"hello, Wright Anything Agency, this is Maya speaking" she said, still holding a pile of paperwork in the other hand. Trucy looked up from her place as Maya answered the phone, putting away her last file.

"M-Miss Fey..." Gumshoe stuttered into the phone, shaken by what had happened. "Yourself, Miss Wright and Mr. Justice need to get down to the hospital ASAP." His voice quivered heavily and the way his breath panted in his chest suggested he'd been running. The sound of whimpering could be heard in the background as Ema cried softly. The two of them were still at the prosecutor's office at that moment, waiting on Maggey to arrive with Gumshoe's car.

Maya's expression changed to a rather anxious one "Mr Gumshoe? why, what's happened?" she gestured over her shoulder for Trucy to go get her brother. Trucy noted Maya's change of expression and nodded, running off to get Apollo, she found him in his office and tapped him on the shoulder "hey, Maya asked me to come and get you...I think something's happened, not sure what though, come on" she tugged gently at his arm, suggesting it was important.

Gumshoe paused for a moment, hearing the shift of tone in Maya's voice.
"Edgeworth was attacked by an assassin in his office." the ex-detective began, "But... he's fine. Mr. Wright.... is the one whose hurt." He realised he'd probably not broken the news in the best way, but he was rattled from what he'd seen in the office.
"Mr. Edgeworth is with him, but he told me to ring you."

Apollo looked up from his work with a frown, noting the look his sister gave him as he set aside the evidence he was looking at and stood to follow her without a word.

Maya made a slight squeak of surprise, falling silent for some time. "N-Nick is..." she turned around as Trucy re-entered the room with Apollo at her heels, tears in her eyes.
"Miss Maya, what's wrong?" Trucy ran over, putting a hand out to the spirit medium's shoulder. "is everything okay?"
Maya shook her head "Nick...Nick is..." she paused, wiping a tear from her face "he's in hospital, Edgeworth asked Gumshoe to tell us..." she bit her lip, trying to stop herself from crying. Trucy gasped "Daddy's in hospital?!" she whipped around to Apollo "we have to go see if he's okay!"

Gumshoe heard the other voices on the other end of the line and watched as his and Ema's ride arrived.
"We'll meet you there, Pal." He said hurriedly, hanging up the phone.

Apollo felt the warmth rush out of his face when Maya told them what had happened, it was like all his blood had drained away.
"I'll drive." He said, dashing to grab his coat and car keys. "Lock the door behind you." He said to whoever was last out.

Maya went to answer to Gumshoe but when he hung up she instead did the same and followed Apollo to the door. Trucy rushed to grab her cloak and hat before following Apollo out, shutting the door and snapping the lock shut as she left.
"what happened, Maya?" she asked, jogging to catch up with her and Apollo.
Maya shook her head "Gumshoe didn't say..." she hugged her shoulders "I hope Nick is alright..." she mumbled, a concerned expression crossing her usually happy face.

At the hospital Edgeworth paced back and forth in the waiting room, wearing just his moroon suit pants, white dress-shirt and black vest. The white shirt was as ruined as his suit top would be, covered in Wright's blood.
What was the fool thinking? Why would he do that? I knew what i was doing, it's not like this is the first time i've had death threats! He'd be furious if he wasn't so worried for his old friend. He paused in his pacing, one hand running through his hair anxiously as the other pressed against his mouth.
If he dies i- i... god dammit Wright! His eyes fixed anxiously on the door, desperately waiting for ANY kind of news.

Gumshoe, Ema and Maggey had arrived not long before, and they sat quietly in a corner, watching the prosecutor pace back and forth anxiously.

Maya spotted Edgeworth pacing from through the window and raced in, Trucy not far behind her. Maya grabbed the prosecutor's arm sharply, but still relatively gently "Mr. Edgeworth! is Nick okay? what happened?!" she was panting by now, obviously she had sprinted the whole way from the car-park. Trucy looked up at Edgeworth with teary eyes and an anxious look, though she didn't speak.

Edgeworth had turned the moment he heard a door open, but whoever had come through had moved so fast that he didn't see them before they'd latched onto his arm.
The expression Miles directed towards Wright's family made it very obvious that the prosecutor was in shock. His eyes seemed to stare past them, rather than looking AT them, and his voice stammered, like he was confused.
"I... That is..." He struggled to find the words, "I was in my office... i was attacked and Wright he--" Edgeworth cut short, gripping his head and shaking it.

Apollo watched quietly, eyes frowned. He was worried for Mr. Wright, but he couldn't help but awe in the way the demon prosecutor was going all to pieces over this, usually he was flawlessly calm. That's when Apollo spotted it, the nervous habit, only it was so obvious this time that anyone could have noticed it.
"Wright appeared out of nowhere and protected me, i didn't even realise he was there... that... that... idiot." Edgeworth said, his hand gripping tightly at his vest in the area over his heart.

Maya was awestruck "he risked his life just for you...." she could see the prosecutor was anxious, she gave him a quick hug to apologise for making him recount the things he'd seen.
Trucy put her hands up to her face and stepped back to where her brother stood, sobbing "that's so brave....oh I hope Daddy's okay..." she turned around to bury her face in Apollo's shoulder, the only person she could turn to at the current time.
Maya looked up at Edgeworth with a sad look in her eys "will he be okay...?" she asked hugging her shoulders once again.

Edgeworth cursed himself for showing so much weakness, but his heart was filled with terror at the mere THOUGHT of Phoenix dying, let alone his life ending because he'd protected HIM.
He felt every muscle in his body go tight as Maya hugged him, but luckily she withdrew before he was forced to do so. Just looking at her teary face and the way Trucy clung to Apollo made him feel even worse.
"I... I don't--" He began, his mind screaming at him to say something reassuring.

"Of course he will be pal!" Gumshoe yelled, moving forward to save Edgeworth. Obviously he'd seen how thick the fear was becoming on the prosecutor's face. "This is Phoenix Wright we're talking about! He's invincible!" The large a scruffy ex-detective moved forward to hug Maya reassuring.

Apollo said nothing as he held on tightly to his sister, his mind racing with everything that had happened.
"Shhh..." He comforted softly as he stroked her hair.

Edgeworth retreated to the corner of the waiting room, holding his head in his hands as he hid his face from everyone, not wanting to let them see him. Especially not as he felt tears began to roll down his face.
D-Dammit... everything's s-shaking... I never wanted to feel this way again... w-what's... going on?
