after an hour-and-a-half or so of writing Phoenix filed out of the room with an assortment of other men and women, sighing and flexing his writing hand.
"ow...." he groaned, flicking his hand in pain from so long writing. "man...I forgot how much writing that test hurts one's hand...." he mumbled to himself, walking out into the hall and rubbing the back of his sore neck "... and neck..." he added.

"Talking to yourself," A voice said from amongst the crowd of departing people, "I guess its a sign of over-work." Edgeworth emerged from the sea of people, looking as suave as ever in his magenta suit and white cravat.

Phoenix almost fell flat on his face when Edgeworth emerged from the crowd "E-Edgeworth!? what are you doing here?!" he asked, poking Edgeworth in the forehead, as if to check he wasn't hallucinating.
"did you come for a case or something?"

"I DO work here Wright." Edgeworth scolded with a slight smirk, glancing down to the side and placing a hand on his hip. "I came... to see how you went, Wright." He seemed a little awkward about admitting that. "After all I... have no cases at present."

Phoenix, again, almost fell over "y-you actually came to see how it went...?" he blinked then straightened and pulled his jacket-sleeve nervously "well, other than the fact that my hand feels like someone drove a stake through it, I think I did pretty good." he smiled "thanks for dropping by, Miles, it's very kind of you" he said, crossing his arms as best as his Briefcase would allow for.

Edgeworth shrugged, trying to pretend it was nothing, after all it seemed a little strange that he'd come all the way here to simply check up on Wright.
"I'm sure you've done fine Wright... you passed it last time right?" He shrugged, giving another crooked smile. "Do you... have plans for lunch?" The obscure habit Apollo had mentioned happened again, his thumb absently rubbing across his lapel.

Phoenix noted the movement this time 'What the...Apollo was right!' Phoenix only barely managed to hide his surprise and shook his head, smiling "no, I don't." he replied, looking the Prosecutor in the eyes "Why is it that you ask?" he asked, pulling a curious look.

Edgeworth seemed like he was going to back out of whatever he'd started suggesting at first, but seemed to double-take. "Well... it's been a while... i know a good cafe not far from here... if you're interested." He raised a hand to clutch his right elbow, glancing sideways away from the other man.

Phoenix blinked a moment then smiled "thats...very kind of you, Edgeworth" he began, he looked like he was contemplating something for a moment then he continued "Sure, I'd be quite happy to" he leaned sideways so he was in Edgeworth's line of sight "is something wrong?" he asked, "what're you looking so nervous for?"

Edgeworth exhaled heavily, shaking his head. "This is new for me, Wright." He frowned, though not as icily as he normally would, "The whole.... 'friend' thing." He chewed his lip, seeming as though he might back out of the conversation at any minute, "You're not obliged to come, Wright. I'm not going to stand here all day."

Phoenix laughed "no, really! I mean it, I'd love to go!" he grinned "it was very kind of you to ask, and I'd be more than happy to join you" he paused and stood up straight "lead the way then, I'll follow you, Edgeworth!"
He then whispered to Edgeworth "and just for the record, you're not doing that bad at the whole friend thing, alright? you don't have to be so nervous about it"

Edgeworth winced again, his hand briefly brushing at his chest again before he turned to lead the way back to his car. "I'll take your word for it." He replied, pressing the unlock button on his key chain, sending the lights on his sports car flashing brightly. He hopped into the driver's seat and started the engine, waiting impatiently for Phoenix to get in.

Edgeworth didn't talk at first, as he threw the car into gear and headed off down the road.
"Just a little cafe... a quaint place that i used to visit often before i left." He turned a corner, changing gears again casually, "When do you... find out if you passed?"

Phoenix looked thoughtful "ummm....3 days I think, I wish it was sooner though, waiting around get's awfully boring." he complained. He turned to look out the window "you know...it's just not like you to go somewhere 'quaint'...but then again, everyone has something that's against their nature" he said, looking back at Edgeworth "right?"
