Lua sighed and stood, adjusting her cloak around herself as she retrieved her staff from the wall. She'd had her fill of mortal vulgarity for the evening. "I thought the rowdiest sorts were sailors, never thought I'd see a sailor out-classed so... easily," she said to the bartender, with no care for being quiet. She gave him the coins for her dinner.

Samael smiled at the man who applauded, and nodded. He too noticed his distinctive features of a Insulen
His gaze then turned to the elegant woman, although at this point Sam would have traded 'elegant' for 'pompous'. "And I, m'lady," he then bowed condescendingly. "Never though I'd see a noble-with-a-silver-spoon-shoved-up-her-ass, be outclassed so easily."
((By the by, I'm going to tweak my character description a bit. I kinda rushed it and found it lacking.))

Alario chuckled at the banter happening in front of him, but knew that such remarks could escalate into a conflict. His hand drifted to the hilt of his sword, seemingly resting it there but all too ready to leap and defend his brethren if it came down to it. Alario might not be one for people, but dammit, if he saw one of his own in trouble he'd rush to their aid.

Lua turned slowly from the counter to face the man who'd bad-mouthed her so. There was no sign of annoyance on her face, just complete disinterest. "Noble? Well, I suppose that shows just how classless you are, if you think that I am a Noble," she bit, her voice completely non-hostile despite the insulting nature. "Just because I do not make a living out of beating up on unfortunates, does not mean I am by any means a Noble." Her disinterest could easily be misconstrued as arrogance.

Sam's brow furrowed in amused confusion, then he let out a small laugh. This woman was very technical, and her straight face kind of irked him. "Well, I beg your pardon, Miss." he gave his infamous smirk toward the other Insulem. " Clearly, a high class hooker pays better." With that Sam sat back down, taking a drink from his mug. Sitting back getting comfortable again. "Now. Why are you here? Clearly your not here to do any kind of job, as any job that would bring you hear is obviously beneath you, and you dressed too well to be part of a fishing crew."

As she wandered down the street towards the local stables and tavern, Minaiah noted a man sprinting as though he were about to die, heading towards the main streets, he appeared to have just bolted from the tavern, probably the victim of a brawl or shake-up of some kind...the door of said tavern was wide open, though now swinging closed of its own accord in the absence of someone holding it ajar. She sighed and shook her head 'Sailors I would bet...such a rowdy, hooch-obsessed pack of brainless idiots...' she assumed, heading on to the stables which were just past the tavern. Her horse, Aldamir, was stabled quickly (since she as always offered a larger pay than the norm to assure her dear friend was well cared-for) and given a bucket of good, fresh food to eat during the night. Naiah thanked the stable-master before she turned and headed back to the tavern from before, praying whatever brawl had been going on was over by now.
As she neared the building, she couldn't help but hear voices arguing inside...they didn't sound like the uneducated and slang-riddled tongues of sailors, surprisingly...in fact one -a female voice- sounded particularly intelligent and calm. She decided to remain outside the door and peek in the window to listen and watch quietly, her lithe frame helping to keep her out of sight leaning on the wall between the half-open window and the rickety wooden door, though she had to make sure to hold her long, blond braids and the tails of her scarf behind her back in case they were swept by the wind and seen through the window...these days no-one liked being eavesdropped on...especially the kind of people who got into brawls and argued openly with others. She wasn't bothered by the cold outside, since she had been born and raised in a place nearly as cold as here, in fact she personally enjoyed the cold and found heat rather unbearable.

Alario inclined his head to his fellow Insulen. He was of the same opinion, but didn't want to start anything. He was on vacation right now, and starting a fight was definitely not on his bucket list.

"I would never sell my body to anyone, neither noble nor commoner," she retorted simply, not interested in his insult. "My business here is of really no concern to you, or me for that matter. I am here because I am here, and that is all that matters to me." A typically cryptic answer to come from the woman.

Sam shrugged. Her technical answers were somewhat annoying feeling his wit was going to waste. He turned to the man. "What about you, my good man?" He said, sitting forward. "See, I was crazy enough to take a job that't bring me to this frigid waste, what dragged you from the Latrunculus?"
(that's the name of the desert)

Naiah remained outside still, identifying "the Latrunculus" as the desert of Insulem, clearly this was a conversation between two insulans and one other. She felt rather insulted when the man called the place a 'frigid waste', since she rather liked the cold, but she knew that Insulans were not very fond of cold places, just as those from the colder cities were not so fond of Insulem. She didn't stop to think that perhaps if the woman was not staying she might be exiting the building and thus find her, she was too busy listening in on the two men that were just about directly behind her. 'a job? must be one of those gun-for-hire types...' a rather violent but still intelligent lot, from what she had heard of tales of their exploits. 'might as well be mercenaries though...I don't think I get why there's the name difference...' she turned back to the window again, having turned away a moment to think, watching the conversation both continue on and very quickly get to be much less of a small war.

Alario shrugged and stood from his seat casually, staying alert of the woman the entire time. 'I would be on a job, but I've decided to take a break for a few days. Travel. Re-acquaint myself with the world. Though, having seen your performance earlier, I feel like doing something exciting.' He tapped his nose and winked, left hand still resting on the pommel of his sword.

"Barbarians..." Lua muttered beneath her breath, before her silver eyes came to be locked firmly upon the window through which someone watched. "It is rude to eavesdrop, child!" she called out to them, folding her arms.

"Sounds like good idea" said ignoring the woman's comment about them being barbarians. "The names Samael, most call me Sam, by that I actually mean the few that know me by name."

Naiah jumped when she was spotted and quickly ducked back from the window, before it struck her what the woman had said, she then pushed the door open and met the woman's gaze squarely. "Child?! I'm 21!!" she retaliated, with an irritated huff. She completely ignored the men, now, completely focused on the well-dressed woman who had insulted her pride.

Alario approached Sam andextended his hand with a small smile. 'Alario Umbra, but Alario is just fine. What say you to getting the hell out of dodge?'
