Despite the hopelessness of it all, the woman struggled against the chains that bound her hands. Abuse directed at those who tugged her along was muffled by a cloth gag. She snarled. Unladylike perhaps, but not much more was expected from so-called gypsy 'scum'. Violet eyes flashed angrily beneath her dark hair as they tugged her chain again, sending her to the floor. The delicate bells on her hips clinked quietly as she got back to her feet. What had she done to warrant this? Begrudgingly, she was forced forward. She hadn't had anything to eat and drink in hours; so while the spirit was willing, the body was weakening. She couldn't fight back quite as well as she had at first...

Prince Atemu sat beside his father and mother on a great golden thrown his startling black eyes narrowed as the guards dragged in his father's newest present. It was the Pharaoh's birthday, and as such gifts were given from all over the kingdom. The eagle headdress that Atemu always wore hid his face, but it did not obstruct his vision. A woman was being dragged across the polished sandstone floor, where she was now being thrown in front of his Father's throne.
The Pharoah stood, ornaments jingling and his large headdress, the white and red of upper and lower egypt sat perfectly on his head. Behind his throne stood his priests and priestesses, who served the different gods of Egypt, of which there were many. "What is it you have brought me?" He asked, his voice deep.
Atemu silently opposed the rough treatment of this woman, and though he could speak up without fear of persecution from the Pharaoh, he still knew when better to keep his mouth shut.
