Sabela sighed.
"I guess so..." she said, standing.
She faced him, waiting patiently for him.
"No matter what happens..." she started softly, but she couldn't finish.

"I'll wait for you in the next life Sabela." He said with a smile. "Nothing can stop us then. I'll sweep you away on my mighty steed and carry you away somewhere without obligation and duty" He smiled, though it was a disheartened one.
"Now come, we need to get you back in the carriage before anyone notices you gone." He held out his hand for her.

Sabela smiled at his words, but felt saddened by them at the same time.
Why can't we have that now?...
She took his hand, moving to block his way and leaning in to kiss him gently on the lips.

As Sabela moved to block his way he frowned slightly, but he was startled when she pressed her lips to his. A shockwave of peace rushed over him like a sea wave on a hot day, he felt like he could melt there. Instinctivly his arms rose to wrap around her waist. He was about to completely drown in her kiss when his common sense kicked into gear... damn conscience... He pulled away gently, blushing in the cover of the darkness, unable to think of anything to say he simply took her hand again and gently led her away.
Llyr snuck her back to the door of the carriage effortlessly evading Xavier's watchful eyes. Finally when he reached the door he opened it for her quietly.
"Sleep well milady..." He said with a sad smile.

Sabela could feel a rare joy pulse through her as she felt Llyr returning her kiss, however it wasn't to last. She tried her best to hide her disappointment as he pulled away and let him take her hand and lead her back. Once back at the carriage, Sabela did her best to return Llyr's smile.
"Goodnight my love," she whispered back sadly, kissing his cheek.

Llyr watched her disappear into the carriage, his fake smile plastered on his face until she was out of sight and he had closed the door behind her. The smile then died, his face filled with a shadow of grief.
He turned and headed straight for Karlus' tent. Once reaching it he stood outside.
"My lord?" He called hushedly.

Karlus opened one eye and looked in the direction of the voice. He yawned and stretched out once he saw the shadow. "Come in?" he said grogilly; his voice harsh from lack of sleep the past few nights while he'd argued with his father. Thrus he couldn't be bothered moving.

"Pardon for such a late intrusion your highness..." He began as he walked cautiously into the tent and stood near the flap with his hands behidnd his back.
"Sire, i wish to default from my position with the convoy and return to my duties at the palace." Llyr said firmly, making sure his tone was still filled with the utmost respect.

Karlus thought something like this would happen, and it did; looky there. "Why?" he asked; trying to wake himself up. He ran his hands trough his hair a few times before sitting up; leaning back on his hands.

Llyr exhaled and ran a hand through his hair.
"Sire... if i may speak plainly... i have been mild infatuated with your eldest sister for some time now... however i now know that if i am forced to watch her marry another against her will i will surely die." His voice and expression were sad, yet blank.
"My presence also seems to be weakening Princess Sabela's resolve... i will not endanger this mission any further... with your leave, i wish to leave immediately."

Karlus raised his eyebrow, frowning. "Permission denied Sir Llyr. You will escort the princesses t where they must go as you have been ordered by your king. When this is done, you may leave before any marriage ensues if you will."

Llyr broke gaze here, his expression darkening visibly.
"As you command sire." He spoke, his voice had an edge of displeasure in it as he bowed low.
"I apologise for waking you." Llyr then turned to leave, his mind going over the disgrace he would suffer if he simply left.
