[Sparkles]

[Night-time. Setting up camp.]
Karlus sat in the carriage with his sisters. One under each arm and Kassi on his lap. She'd been pretty much silent since they'd left the city; only talking when asked a direct question. "I know you'll miss home" he continued quietly, "But we're just going to have to take this as it comes; yeah? We'll see what happens when we get there. But I promise you, that i will not be leaving you unless i see that you're happy. I promise i will not leave."

Joslyn hugged up against her brother, enjoying the comfort he was supplying, his kind words brought her hope, and his promise to remain with her made her realize that she would always have most of her family beside her. She didn't speak, having nothing to say anyway.

Llyr sat by the campfire, prodding it with a poker until in flared healthily. He looked towards the carriage, noting the glow of a light from within. He sighed and stood, checking around the carriage one last time before he settled down.
"Xavier, you take first watch, i'll take second and Trey can have the dawn watch."

Sabela rested her head on her brother's shoulder. She felt tired, yet she was certain she would have trouble sleeping. Maybe later she would sneak off for some fresh air; that always seemed to help her.
"Thankyou Karlus," she said with a small smile.

Xavier was leaning on the carriage, arms crossed and staring into the fire, when Llyr spoke to him. He gave a short nod before standing straight and making his way to the front of the carriage where he would keep watch.

Karlus gave then a firm but gentle squeeze. He knew he was going to say what he wanted to eventually; but for now he managed to keep his opinions to himself.
"D-Daddy's just trying to do what's right for the rest of the kingdom... isn't he? i mean; he still loves us, doesn't he, Karlus?" her voice came out husky from her lack of talking and need for sleep.

Trey wandered aloud, "What do you think they're talking about?" he looked puzzled, trying to figure it out in his mind... but he couldn't. His mind was too overcrowded with his own worries.

Llyr turned his gaze on to Trey and gave a small frown, unable to withhold his biased opinion.
"Probably debating which prince is going to be the most attractive or some trivial matter like that."

Xavier turned from his post upon hearing Llyr's words. He raised an eyebrow at the fellow knight.
"Sounds like your not all for this... Anyone'd think you have a thing for one of them..."
Xavier grinned at this.

Sabela looked to Kassi, seeing the weariness on her face.
"I think it's about time we all had some rest," she said softly to her siblings.

[Sparkles]

Trey stayed silent. The easy comment weighed on his shoulders and he turned; pretending to be fixing his reins.

Kassi sighed; holding back whatever she thought might be coming. She'd gotten the anser she dreaded; because they hadn't answered. "Karlus... could you stay with us?"
"I'd love to; you know I would. But I have to go and set up my own sleeping ground for the night. I'll be back to check on you; ok?"
"Kay"
He took her off of his lap and set her down before leaving the carriage.

Llyr's reply was perhaps a little over defensive, but he had to make a quick save.
"I grew up with them. It has always been my duty to protect them and protect them i will. I don't agree with betrothal, my elder sister married her betrothed and he killed her for disobedience..." His tone was almost venemous. "I will die before i dishonor my family by letting something happen to the princesses."
He stood and brushed himself off.
"I'm gonna go for a walk..." He grumbled, walking off into the inky blackness.

Joslyn stood and walked over to Kassi and sat down next to her, pulling her into a hug before putting her head on her shoulder to sleep.

Xavier raised an eyebrow.
"That was a little defensive," he said to Trey as he returned to his watch.

Sabela gave Karlus a small smile as he left. Knowing she wouldn't sleep, Sabela waited until she was sure her sisters were settled before she too left the carriage quietly, so she wouldn't catch their's or the knight's attention. She checked around quickly before walking out into the night.

By this time, Karlus had set up his tent and was laying back in it; hands behind his head, eyes closed.

Trey nodded to Xavier. 'That was wierd'. "What'd you think is goin' n there?"

[Tifa Lockhart]

Llyr kicked a stone as he walked, his chainmail jingling in the darkness. He did however become aware of footsteps behind him. He turned and drew his sword.
"Who goes?" He said firmly out into the darkness.

Xavier shrugged.
"Who knows?... But he's been acting strange lately..."

Sabela froze as she heard a voice not far from her, but relaxed slightly when she recognised it as Llyr.
"It's only me," she sighed quietly, making her way toward the voice, knowing she had been caught.

Llyr sheathed his sword and folded his arms, scowling lightly in the darkness, finding it difficult to be truely angry.
"Princess Sabela. What are you doing out here? It is not safe."

[The Painted Lady]

Sabela emerged from the bushes just as Llyr spoke again, only just able to see his features in the moonlight. He didn't look too impressed. She blushed and looked to the ground.
"I know," she said quietly. "I just needed to get away for a moment..."
She raised her gaze to his face again. "Why are you here?"

All firmness and aggravation vanished from Llyr's expression as he sighed and broke eye contact with Sabela.
"I-.... i'm ... patrolling." He lied quite obviously, noting silently that she had done exactly as he had, come away from everything... just to get away.
