Tifa & Yuffie II

[Tifa Lockhart]

"Strangely..." Miles mused, leaning over to put the tea cup down on the nearest flat surface, "I no longer feel like tea."
He raised a hand to cup the side of Phoenix's face, pressing his lips to just beneath his jaw.

Phoenix looked a little surprised, but not at all object to the gesture, moving his arm from around Miles' shoulders to hold him around the waist, his other hand seeking to pull Miles' head up to give him a proper kiss to the lips.

Miles leaned properly into the kiss, his second hand rising to sit on Phoenix's neck. He'd been thinking a lot thanks to the case with Cearan. He owed a lot to Phoenix, and though he made sure to show it every day, he was never going to ever truly repay Phoenix for anything. He was alive, because Phoenix had cared enough to come back for him. That was why he needed to help Cearan... because he had no one like that to help pull him through.

Phoenix tightened his hold on Miles gently, pulling his love in close to him, enjoying the proximity, silently. His hand which was still gently touching Miles' cheek moved to return to tracing lines through the prosecutor's silver hair, lovingly.

Miles enjoyed the loving embrace for a moment or so longer before finally pulling away just a little.
"I should probably let you get back to work now," he murmured.

Phoenix smiled at that, with a light chuckle. "probably, not that I really want to get back to work" he remarked, an amused tone to his voice. "nor do I REALLY have any work to do besides thinking, since this case has no crime scene to investigate, only people to interview and records to look at...which I have already gone through quite thoroughly, and it's too late in the day to call the last person of interest, they're too far from here" he wasn't lying, actually, he really did have little work to do now XD, a pleasant change from the usual workload. "so by all rights I COULD just finish up work now, but I know you'd tell me off...unless maybe you'd let me help you at your office? having work to do is actually better than having nothing to do at all, surprisingly" he said, a not-so-subtle request to go back to the prosecutors' office with Miles to help with his work, so he had 1. something to do 2. someone to talk to. (Esme was always busy, she was a good secretary, so she never really had the spare time to talk to Phoenix besides in lunch break).

Miles looked disapproving at first, but after a moment or two he decided that Phoenix's logic worked.
"Alright, wrap up here then," he said, giving the defence attorney a quick kiss before he stood.

"yay!" Phoenix grinned cheerfully...how typical of him XD. He then got up and went back out to his desk to clean up the papers and such and put them in their file, he then put his pen back in the top drawer with the file and locked it. That done he grabbed his phone and keys off the desk and put them in his pocket before wandering back to where Miles waited at the door, looping his arm around his love's. "alright, let's go!" it seemed he had cheered up again after the reminiscing from earlier, he was as childish as ever.

Miles rolled his eyes at Phoenix's antics before leading him out into the main office area. Esme looked up from her desk as they appeared.
"Calling it a day, Mr. Wright?" she asked, seeming non-plussed about it. "I'll lock up for you when i leave, shall I?"

[Yuffie Kisaragi]

Phoenix smiled and nodded. "yeah, nothing else to do anyway." he replied, she then asked if she should lock up when she would leave. "yep, thanks Esme, I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" he waved to the woman with a warm smile.

"Of course Mr. Wright," she replied with a smile, turning her gaze onto Edgeworth then. "Have a pleasant day Mr. Edgeworth."
The prosecutor dipped into one of his bows and thanked her, before he and Phoenix finally left the office and proceeded out into the street to where his somewhat aging red sportscar waited for them.

Phoenix simply followed behind Miles back to the car, watching the world go by around him, as was his nature. It occurred to him often that Miles' car was quite old, but he'd grown rather fond of the old thing, having known it for many years now, so he couldn't really care less...in fact he'd be sorry to see the day it had to go. "so what are you working on now?" he asked, casually, turning his gaze back to the prosecutor as he spoke to him.

"Just finalising a lot of the forensic related paperwork from my previous cases," Miles explained promptly, hopping into the driver's seat of the car and starting the engine. "I let myself fall shamefully behind in it... so now i'm paying for it in a backlog."

[Yuffie Kisaragi]

Phoenix got in to the passenger seat as he listened to Miles, clipping on his seatbelt before turnig his eyes back to the prosecutor once again. "ah, I see, then I suppose you could USE the help" he laughed lightly, brushing at his fringe. "I suppose I do owe you the favor, consider us even now"

"Even, for the time being," Miles agreed with a chuckle as they headed down the road to the District Attorney's office.
