Yuna, Aerith & Tifa

[The Painted Lady]

Tidus paused.
"So we, uh... storm this Lifestream and chase this thing away?"

Aerith shook her head.
"I don't know whether it'll be that simple. To submerge into the Lifestream carries a high risk."
She glanced to Cloud and Tifa, knowing that they knew this.
"Exposure to Mako often results in poisoning."

Tidus blinked.
"Then what do we do?"

Yuna looked to Tidus as he continued his questions. Her eyes a little duller than usual and her smile gone for a while. There world was tearing apart, and people were dying. Yuna didn't want to leave this place for the sake of these people. If this thing was eating this planet, it may soon come to Spira.
"What do these creatures look like? The ones that.. murder people" Yuna asked breathing deeply in th middle of her sentence.

Cloud diverted his eyes away from Aerith briefly, looking to the floor as he thought of the time so long ago.

Zack himself grew very tense when Yuna posed her question, his expression darkening as he looked at the floor.
"Anyone, or anything... as far as we know." He sighed and rubbed his forehead, "Aerith and I saw several of them when they were formed, they become people and animals... we don't know if they have any discernible features that make them obvious." He then looked to Tidus.
"And we don't know how we can access the Lifestream without fear of poisoning... we've yet to work that out."

Tifa noted Cloud's expression and placed a comforting hand on his arm, her eyes tender. She remembered those long days trying to nurse him back into consciousness...

Aerith resisted the urge to reach for Zack's hand. She knew it would make Tseng feel alone. Instead she sighed.
"It's something we are yet to figure out ourselves... We're running out of time, with no way to stop any of it just yet..."

[Yuna Braska]

Yuna pushed her hair back lightly trying to think of some sort of way to help these people, but she didn't know a lot about this world. She knew a lot about the Fayth back home, but she wasn't sure if it was the same case here. The Fayth could only be heard by summoners, and it was Yuna that helped the Fayth to keep going. She can speak to them whenever she wants now. All of this start to remind her of another incident, how the Fayth was weakening due to a presence in the Farplane, though Yuna could go straight into the problem and defeat it.
"So the alien isn't affected by the Mako? what about the creatures that come from it?" Yuna asked trying to figure out a way to help these people.

Cloud felt Tifa's warm hand on his arm but kept his head low as he listened, the young woman was asking some very good questions. He lifted his head up after a while to check on Gippal but he was still beside Tifa.

"They don't appear to be affected in any way in fact they seem to be having an adverse affect on IT instead." Zack folded his arms and frowned, "I feel useless not knowing enough to give you good information.... intel used to be an area i was good in." He groaned slightly.

Aerith's eyes were filled with both sympathy and worry as she looked up to Zack, before turning her eyes back on the foreigners.
"It's a blind cause I know... And we'd understand completely if you wished to leave. We really have no plan of attack, and no idea about the extent of the damage this will cause in the end."

Where once he may have acted selfishly, Tidus had changed since he met Yuna. He shook his head immediately, knowing the summoner beside him would feel the same.
"No way. We came here to help and we're going to do the best we can."

Agreeing with Tidus, Yuna looked to her new friends and placed her hands in front of her. "We are staying, we have been through rough times too."
Gippal frowned at the movement they were getting on the situation, he stepped forward slightly and folded his arms casually. "So there is a monster in your Farplane..sorry.. Lifestream and there is no way to actuley get to it?" Gippal was trying to think of ways to destroy this beast but the restrictions they had was making it difficult.

Cloud relaxed a little when Gippal moved but stayed hidden out of the conversation unless there was something he incredible disagreed with. Then was the time to give his input.

Zack looked over and let an eyebrow crawl up a little at the word 'Farplane' but when the blonde corrected himself, he nodded.
"That's right... there is a way, but it poses a severe risk to a person." He rubbed the back of his head, "As far as i know, i'm the only person immune to Mako Poisoning... and i could never do it alone."

"We don't even know if we can attack from a physical perspective," Aerith added softly.
She rubbed her head, feeling sick and groggy. It had been an incredibly long day: coming back from the Canyon, consoling Tseng and meeting these new foreign people. So many tiring weeks... She just really needed to sleep.

[Yuna Braska]

Rikku was pouting on the couch, annoyed that they couldn't figure out a way to beat this bugger. Though it was only day one, so not all hope was lost. Yuna took a sigh out and sat next to Rikku.


"If only there was a way to draw it out.." Yuna went on but stopped because she was just frustrated that it was so hard. She knew Spira when she was protecting it but she knew nothing of this land, she wanted to just get a history lesson from a sphere or at least some information.

Gippal looked to Zack and frowned. "immune to Mako? why are you immune to it and no one else?"He asked curiously

Cloud looked up at Zack and Aerith, trying to think of ideas. He didn't like the idea of Zack going alone, though he knew that Aerith wouldn't allow it. He wouldn't allow it. When Gippal asked his question about the Mako, he raised his eyes to meet the male before looking to Zack, wondering what he would say.

Zack winced slightly when Gippal asked his question, and brushed the back of his head.
"Well... a few years ago a company called Shinra Electric Power Company had a monopoly over this world... they controlled everything with fear. I was part of an elite unit known as SOLDIER... and SOLDIER were infused with Mako because the Shinra scientists discovered it had properties that enhanced human tissue." He brushed his arm slightly, the topic a touchy one.
"The process had varying rates of success... i was one of the few infused with high levels of Mako to survive the process... as such, i'm immune to the radiating effects of Mako energy." He shifted slightly.

Tidus frowned.
"That's uh... strange?" he offered.
He looked down to the pink-clad woman beside the one who spoke. She didn't look too good.
"Perhaps this can continue tomorrow?" he asked.

Aerith looked up, realising he was looking at her.
"Oh... no, it's fine really," she said, giving a small smile.

Yuna lifted her head slightly in confusion at the memory that wiped across her thoughts. "Shinra?" Yuna said still next to Rikku. Her cousin looked at her funny and scratched her head.
"Shinra.. Shinra?" Rikku asked not sure if that was what they meant. Cid and Buddy were confused too as they just thought of it as just a mispronunciation.

Cloud looked to Aerith who did look very tired and agree'd with the blonde, standing up he rubbed his arm. "We do all need a rest" the bright blue eyed male said before the others started up again about Shinra. He wasn't sure if they were just confused about the situation or recognized the name.

Zack opened his mouth to reply to the newcomers before his eyes shot over to Cloud and then to Aerith. He frowned lightly and walked to the woman's side.
"Perhaps you should go have a lie down..." He suggested softly, "I can handle things for now..."

Paine twitched slightly in her silent corner at the mention of Shinra... surely it was not a coincidence?
