Tifa & Yuna

[Tifa Lockhart]

Cloud found himself a place to lean where he was out of the way of other passengers and could still keep an eye on Yuna. He also kept an eye on Tidus, who already seemed to be getting up to mischief.

It had been around half an hour of being on the boat and the sea was rather settle for a change. It was expected to be more rough. Wakka was practicing his Blizball on the ship with his team and Yuna was near the front port.
"Uhh hi Yuna" Tidus said as he walked up to stand beside her. Yuna smiled politely and looked back out to the water.
"Are you are friend of Cloud's?" Yuna asked sweetly. Tidus paused for a moment and looked to where Cloud stood darkened by the shadows from where he stood.
" Well? He's the gloomiest friend I've ever had" He gave a slight chuckle but stopped when Yuna gave him a stare as well. "He's a friend of my old man"
Yuna nodded but didn't really understand why he was here though, she had never heard or seen him before.
" So did Cloud bring you along?" Yuna asked in curiosity.
"Uhh no not exactly, I'm sort of a sow away. Looking for my old man, he sort of vanished" Yuna was confused again and turned slightly towards him.
"Do you think he's here?" questioning Tidus again. He simply shrugged.
"I don't know"

Lulu was standing behind Cloud, she had been there for a while and was curious about the Hero from the past. Was he just sent here to help Spira, or for once help Yuna. Lulu was too sick of all the Summoners dying for peace in Spira, she didn't want to lose Yuna.
"What did she say?" Lulu asked Cloud, wanting answers. "What did the Fayth want you to do?"

Cloud opened his eyes when he heard a voice. He'd been submerged in deep thinking until Lulu's voice shattered his thoughts and beckoned him back to the world of Spira, rather than the memories of a far away time that he had submerged himself in.
He looked up, fixing the dark haired mage with his deep blue stare. He watched her silently for several moments, thinking up his answer carefully before he spoke.
"She told me... that i was to protect Yuna... and put an end to meaningless death in Spira." He broke the eye contact that he'd held for so long and frowned slightly, blonde eyebrows tiling delicately. "Aerith - the Fayth - told me i'd know what I had to do when i got here..." His eyes traveled from the ground to Yuna, where they rested.
"Yuna avoids specifics... but I-" He frowned, and fell silent, not sure where he was going with that statement.

Lulu sighed in relief. She was glad and she came to stand by Cloud, folding her arms over her chest. This 'Aerith' seemed very different from other Fayth's that have guided Summoners, Lulu didn't see the deaths as meaningless though. Every Summoner sacrificed themselves to save Spira and each one will be remembered, but she still didn't really want such a young child such as Yuna to take the path so early. " Yuna is strong, and she relies on the strength of her friends. She isn't avoiding specifics, she is just staying strong" Lulu grew a small smile and looked to the warrior who was just only her height. "You have no idea what you are to do here do you?" Lulu assumed.

Cloud met Lulu's gaze again and tilted his head slightly before giving the tiniest of smirks.
"Whoever told you that knowledge and plans lead to victory was wrong." He stated casually, the smirk vanishing as quickly as it had appeared, "You plan as you go, and you work things out one situation at a time..." His face sobered up completely and his eyes jerked back to Yuna again.
"I know enough to know what it is that i must stop..." He glanced back to Lulu again, a small frown on his face, "Do you trust me?"

Lulu turned straight to cloud, her arms still crossed but slowly they fall down her body to rest at her sides. " This situation right now is not a 'plan as you go'. If we did such a thing, it would be very dangerous. It would be stupid to tell a child as young as Yuna that she is one of the last chances that Spira has to eliminate sorrow. Yuna does not look at the step that is in front of her. She looks at the whole staircase." Lulu began to walk away but stopped to answer his last question.
" I trust the Fayth's decision"

Cloud made no reply, and closed his eyes again to think for a moment. He'd never disappointed before... but he'd never solved a problem without loss either. He knew he was not here to make friends, and that was something he was not particularly good at anyway.
He opened his eyes again to watch Lulu go, going over what she'd said in his head.
The whole staircase... and therefore what is at the top... He looked over to where Yuna stood with Tidus, and then spoke so only Lulu would hear him.
"Then I'll make sure i'm always two steps ahead of her." He straightened from the wall and made his way across the deck to the railing, where he'd lean and look out over the ocean.

Lulu spoke softly back. 'i wouldn't look down if i were you, there are so much more surprises in front of you" She walked away finally and looked to the back of the boat only to see the one thing she really didn't want to see. The Boat rocked violently like it hit a huge wall of some sort and was pushed off course.

Tidus tumbled a bit at the collision of the boat and quickly grabbed hold of Yuna's hand to balance the both of them so neither would fall over board. "Hold on!" Tidus yelled out.
From beneath the water came rising up a huge beast with a mouth that could swallow the boat all in one gulp. water washed aboard the deck like a wave but everyone surprisingly remained on the boat by gripping onto the rails.Yuna turned to look at the beast and held her breath. It was Sin, and it was moving fast.

Cloud was at Yuna's side in an instant, his massive blade drawn and ready. He had remarkable footing, holding the railing with only the one hand and remaining upright.
"Sin i presume?" He said, more of a statement than a question. The monster was hideous, but something about it didn't seem right.
He knew now that it was not a WEAPON, there was no way it was made by the planet, it was definitely something different entirely.

Tidus tightened his grip on Yuna's trying to keep them both standing at least until the waves would stop. Yuna closed her eyes when the water would spray onto the boat, though her vision was set on her hands that Tidus held. She could see him stumbling a bit to keep her steady and removed her hand from the rail to help him regain his balance. Sin did not turn and fight after the first blow, he continued down the sea towards their last course, leaving the boat to gently rest on top of the settling waves. Tidus took in a deep breath and regrettably sat on a puddle on the deck as his legs collapsed. Yuna was still holding onto his hands so knelled down to the floor as well.
"That was Sin?! " Tidus said in astonishment, his breath was short and deep. Yuna picked herself up from the wet floor and shook out her from the back of her neck. "Why didn't it attack us again?" Yuna asked not sure why it continued on it's path, unless it did not notice them.

Cloud frowned as he released the railing, but he did not put away his sword. His eyes were following the beast as it disappeared in front of them.
"It's following our course..." He mused, deep concern in his voice. "It either didn't notice us... or has another agenda that's more important." He turned to look at Yuna, who was sodden, but appeared unharmed.
"Are you alright Lady Yuna?" He asked, making a begrudging mental note to congratulate Tidus for his save later.

Yuna wiped her face with the back of her hand, getting all the water off. "I'm fine, it's ok" She replied to Cloud surprised that yes she was fine. she thought she was about to get thrown over board before Tidus grabbed hold of her. Tidus got up from the puddle he was sitting on and moaned by how much he got his shorts soaked. Though he didn't feel too left out. Everyone was wet. "Thankyou" She smiled to Tidus, greatful for his act.

At that moment Khimari came thundering over, looking very wet and quite irritated.
"Khimari sorry Yuna..." He muttered in his deep voice, "Khimari will be faster next time... a wave knocked Khimari down." He snarled slightly.

Cloud turned away now, his expression thoughtful as he watched the foam that lead in the direction Sin had gone.
Something had not felt quite right....

"You don't have to apologize Khimari, it was sudden for everyone."Yuna wipes some more water from her clothes and sighed deeply. "I think i will go rest' Lulu made her way over to Yuna thankful that she was ok. Wakka had just arrived and had not seen what went on at the front end of the boat as he was on the other side. Tidus tried to look for a dry place to sit but was unsuccessful, he leaned on the railing instead and watched as yuna left to rest for the rest of the trip. They were told with a few fixings to teh boat it wouldn't be long until they got to Kilika.

Cloud waited until Yuna was gone before he glanced at Tidus.
"Nice save." He commented in this usual way he did when giving a compliment, awkwardly. He frowned though, and turned to fully face Tidus.
"Don't... get attached." He warned.
