Luke had been quite grateful when Mega-man lured Lan's attention away from him, he'd been beginning to feel like a bug under a microscope. So he flinched when Lan seemed to turn his eyes back on to him.
"I... don't know." The boy admitted, looking at the floor, "Go home i guess... if i'm allowed." He shrugged. Luke had never lead a particularly interesting life. He lived alone in a tiny apartment that he paid for by working at the deli next door. As long as he pulled his share of the workload, the owner of the deli let him keep his apartment.

Lan nodded slowly, then looked around a moment before turning his attention back to Luke.
"I don't think my Dad will take any chances, probably...he'll want some of the Net-police to check all of the Net-space around your apartment first before he sends you home probably...he's can be a bit over-cautious sometimes." he said, sighing. He remembered when his Dad had forbidden him from using the Synchro-chip (even though he eventually did anyway) for the sake of keeping him safe from any harm the still work-in-progress chip might have caused. "but, I suppose that's why this City's become so safe over the past few years; all the Scientists and Net-Police working hard and taking no chances so as to keep the people of DenTek safe!" He smiled, leaning back against the wall behind him. "hmm...but what will you do if you can't go home yet?" he asked, putting emphasis on the 'if'

Luke didn't look particularly fond of the idea of not being allowed to go home, but he didn't say anything. Instead he acted as though the whole idea didn't bother him, and moved on to answer Lan's question.
"I suppose i'll just stay here and stay out of the way." He said with a shrug, "Its not like there's anything else i can do after all."

Lan looked at Luke again, the look on his face changing to a frown "aw c'mon! are you serious? I wouldn't sit around doing nothing for 5 seconds!" he complained, "there's plenty of things to do around here, and there's lots of people to meet too...you should meet Mr. Famus! he's real great! and I think you'd get along with him too, he's the real serious down-to-earth kinda guy...unless he's just got a pay-rise or something else really good has happened" He said, an amused tone in his voice. Famus could be pretty funny sometimes, but generally he was all about work...always work. Sometimes Lan wondered if Famus even had much of a life OTHER than work!
"And who knows, if my friends come looking for me today, you might even get to meet them!" he added, secretly hoping they did come looking for him...he hadn't seen them in a couple of days now. He'd been busy all day with the investigation one day, the next he was in hospital most of the day until he was allowed to go to Sci-Lab and then he spent the rest of the day there with Chod, Luke and his Dad. then today his father called him down here to check if Megaman was damaged at all from the fight with Alphaman.
All-in-all he kinda missed his friends...and most likely, Megaman was missing his friends too!
"so in any case there's plenty to do! so you won't have to sit around all day if you really don't want to"

Luke felt like he was being overwhelmed again, and with a dark blush he looked at the floor. He'd never had friends before, there'd been no one in his life except Dragon-man up til this point.
"I think Luke would like to meet your friends."[/i] Alpha-man spoke up from the PET in Luke's hands, having being silent for a very long time. "Even if he wont say so."[/i]

Lan looked over suddenly as Alphaman spoke. He was surprised at first, but then smiled.
"When my Dad's done with Megaman, I can get him to message them if you'd like, we can meet them by the entrance!" He suggested, looking back up at Luke.

Professor Hikari could hear the whole conversation from the other end of the room and found he had the stifle a laugh at his son's eager attitude. He really didn't know how to shut up, did he? goodness knows why though...possibly because the rest of his family didn't tend to talk unless talked to, so he'd learned to talk to people...a lot. Megaman appeared mostly fine after yesterday's conflict, only his energy-levels had been affected and they had already gotten back to a natural status. Dr. Hikari finished the check-up and removed the P.E.T from the connection-port.
"Lan!" he called, turning around to face the two boys on the other side of the room.
"yay!" Lan wasted no time and instantly ran over to collect his P.E.T. "hey Megaman! how are you, pal?" he asked, after thanking his father.
"great! not that there was really anything to fix."[/i] The Navi replied, as he appeared on-screen.
"good to hear!" Lan said, grinning happily.
"He wasn't greatly affected by yesterday's battle, so there wasn't really much I needed to do." Dr. Hikari said "feel free to go or stay as you please now, son" he said, before turning back to the computer to start work on the program he had been at work on for the past few weeks.
Lan nodded to his Dad before turning back to Luke.
"so Luke, did you want me to see if my friends were busy right now? I'm sure they'd love to meet you!" Lan said, walking back over to the boy, smiling.
"I agree, and I'll bet that their Navis will enjoy getting to know Alphaman too!" Megaman added.

Luke didn't reply, instead he focused his gaze on the floor, blushing heavily.
"That's a yes."[/i] Alpha-man translated blandly.

Lan was delighted, he smiled brightly before turning his gaze to Megaman, in his P.E.T.
"hey, Megaman, can you send an e-mail to everyone for me? tell them to meet me at the entrance to Sci-Lab in 10 minutes." he requested, Megaman nodded to him.
"sure thing Lan!"[/i] Megaman disappeared from the screen for a moment, before returning shortly after and reporting that the message had been sent. "the only person I didn't send the message to was Chod...I'd bet he's probably pretty busy after yesterday, besides he's never particularly fond of hanging around...all about work he is."[/i]
"yeah, thanks Megaman" Lan said, looking back at Luke "lets head down-stairs" he suggested, smiling at the younger boy.

Luke hesitated and glanced down at his PET, Alpha-man obviously gave him a nod of encouragement or something, because then he stood and moved to follow Lan, keeping quiet.
He felt horribly awkward, and he knew things were only going to get worse.

Lan lead the way through the hall to the elevator, he then pressed the ground floor button and leaned back against the wall to wait for the elevator to reach the bottom. As they reached the bottom, the doors slid open and Lan lead the way out and through the corridors to the main lobby.
"here we are! the others will meet us here in...about one and a half minutes" he said, turning to face Luke.

((who's playing each of his friends?? you can play more of them than me if you like (i already have a lot of characters to control) so feel free to pick...in fact if Laika is in town (god knows what for), you can have him and search-man ^^ I know you'd love that))

Luke remained quiet as he followed Lan, sticking close to the boy as they reached the entrance of Sci-lab. He kept his eyes peeled for any approachers, feeling very uneasy.

They waited a short while before the doors slid open and -before he had a chance to turn around- "LAN! what happened to your ARM?!" Yai, Dex, Tory stepped in the door first...Yai was the first to get to Lan. She bombarded him with questions, including 'lemme guess it was a super-secret Net-Saver mission right? right?!' and many others. Dex and Tory followed her over and greeted Lan; Tory with a simple hand-shake, Dex with a gentle slap on the back.
"hey guys, it's good to see you too!" Yai then noticed the boy standing with Lan.
"HEY~! there's a new-kid! wow, he's adorable! hey there, I'm Yai Ayano! Bow before my majesty peasant!" She beamed, ranting and ranting possibly more than even Lan.
"YAI! stop being so loud!" Lan finally got a word in, through her ranting "he's not such a confident kid" he whispered, folding his arms.
Tory and Dex stepped forward to greet Luke.
"hey there, little guy! so what's your name? OH! you've got a Net-Navi! what's his specialty, eh?" that's Dex alright, instantly starts ranting about Net-Navis and battling...Tory however pushed past Dex gently and greeted Luke with a simple hand-shake.
"hey there! I'm Tory, it's very nice to meet you. So what's your name?" compared to the rest of Lan's friends Tory was definitely very quiet...more the kind to get along with Luke.
About then was when Higsby walked in with (spoutman's netop) "Hello, Lan! oh, and who's this? it's a pleasure to meet you, my name's Higsby, I run the local battle-chip store!" Higsby stepped forward and offered his hand to the boy. (spoutman's Net-op) stepped forward, and in her quiet and timid voice whispered a quick hello and an introduction "it's very nice to meet you" she said, smiling a little.

Lan couldn't help but feel for the kid...he was being rather swarmed...but once things calmed down, he figured he'd be okay -given Yai could shut her trap for a while or at LEAST tone it down a bit- so he kept clear for a moment while everyone said their hellos.

Luke nearly had a heart attack as the strange blonde girl came up to him. He broke out in an instant sweat and moved to hide behind Lan, seeking protection from this overly loud individual. In the aftermath of meeting her, Lan seemed calm and quiet. Things didn't really improve when the big guy came and started asking questions about Alpha-man, he found himself sinking even more into Lan's side.
"Easy Luke."[/i] Alpha-man comforted quietly. Just when Luke thought he wouldn't be able to take any more, a young boy not much older than himself approached. This boy was much calmer, and much more gentle.
"I'm.." Luke began nervously, eyes darting to the door as yet more people arrived and greeted him, "I'm Luke." He said, shifting a little, his eyes darting around.
Just when he thought he wouldn't be able to take any more people, a red headed girl appeared.
"Lan!" She declared happily, "It's great to see you! Your mother told me you were in hospital! Were you being careless again?" She came to stand before Lan, her expression scolding him. For the time being she didn't pay any mind to his new little companion.

Lan shrunk back from Maylu's scolding a bit.
"well...I...no! not exactly...I mean...!" Lan stuttered, knowing full-well he was about to get a MASSIVE lecture from Maylu. "well....it was kind of an accident...me and Chod got seperated...and well...I got into a fight on my own..." Megaman cut Lan off
"and got totally whipped....really Lan, you know you can't sugar-coat these sorts of things with Maylu, she'll scold you anyway!"[/i] he said, expecting any second to be pounced by a certain Navi in pink.

Lan blushed as Megaman told Maylu the truth. "well...yeah...but I mean...he WAS a Darkloid...and he was so fast! I couldn't help it if he caught me before I knew he was there!" Lan turned back to everyone else."so uh, anyway this is Luke" he said, gently encouraging Luke forward.
"Luke, why don't you introduce yourself and Alphaman to everyone?" he asked, placing a hand on Luke's shoulder and smiling.

((and once he introduces himself have Roll be introduced/pounce megaman and then we'll get everyone else's Navis to introduce themselves ^^))

Luke was really unsure of himself as Lan nudged him forward, but it did not take him long to realise that his introduction had saved Lan from a scolding frm the red headed girl.
"I-I'm Luke." He said yet again, his voice shaking as he tried to keep his eyes on the ground not wanting anyone to look at him, "A-And Alpha-man is my net-navi." Despite introducing his Navi, he kept the PET hugged close to him, not wanting any of these strangers to touch it.

In the meantime Alpha-man had found himself being dragged off into general space by Mega-man, who insisted that now that introductions were done between Luke and Lan's friends the introductions between Alpha-man and Mega-man's friends must begin.
"Really Mega-man i don't think--" He began, but he'd never get the chance to finish, for at that exact moment a blur of pink knocked Mega-man clean onto the floor.
"Mega-man!" The girl exclaimed and she clung to Mega-man, "You should be more careful i was WORRRIIIIIED!" Her voice became a little bit of a whine.
Alpha-man stood back, trying to be invisible. Why were Lan and Mega-man's friends all so loud?
