[Tifa Lockhart]

Zack smiled brightly to the attendant and gave his son a slight jostle on his hip.
"My little trooper here would like his ear pierced." he pointed to which one Ynyr had chosen. "I've already got the stud here." He produced the little silver stud from his pocket and presented it to the woman.

[The Painted Lady]

The woman took the stud, examining it for a moment before she nodded with a smile.
"That should be fine," she said, moving out from behind the desk.
"Would you like to take a seat little guy," she smiled.

Zack put Ynyr down, who instantly scampered off to follow the lady, taking a seat where she indicated. He then reached out and beckoned his father over, who came to stand beside him, resting a hand on his little shoulder.

[The Painted Lady]

The woman crouched in front of the boy, preparing her instrument and the earring with a sterile cloth.
"Now, which side did you want it in?" she asked gently.

[Tifa Lockhart]

"This one please." The little boy said, tugging his left earlobe, "Like daddy's."

[The Painted Lady]

The woman smiled.
"Okay honey," she said gently.
"Will you be able to sit still for me for a couple of minutes?... And make sure you watch me, okay?"
She adjusted the gun on Ynyr's ear.
"So how old are you little sir?" she asked, in an attempt to distract him before she pierced his ear.

Ynyr nodded when the lady asked him to sit still, doing as she said despite his excitement.
"I'm three!" He said, holding up a hand with four fingers on it. Zack chuckled gently and reached down to lower one of the boys fingers.
"Thankyou daddy." He said with a happy laugh.

[The Painted Lady]

"Three, huh?" the woman asked.
"You are a big boy."
She quickly pulled the trigger on the piercing gun, satisfied that the boy was distracted and still enough.

Ynyr puffed his chest out proudly when the woman said he was a big boy.
"Yes i am--" He was saying when the little gun went off. There was a yelp and a whimper but he remained largely silent.
"You alright Yn?" Zack asked, squeezing his sons shoulder,
"Y-Yes daddy." Ynyr whimpered, a few little tears running down his face.
"You're such a brave boy Ynnie." Zack praised, beaming with pride.

[The Painted Lady]

"That's it. All over," the woman promised gently.
She straightened.
"Do you want to see?" she asked, producing a mirror.

[Tifa Lockhart]

Ynyr gave another whimper and nodded hurriedly before reaching up for is father, who instantly picked him up.
"Lets have a look huh champ?"

The woman ducked quickly behind the desk again as they approached the mirror, producing a lollipop that she handed to Ynyr with a smile.
"Is that your Ma and little sister outside?" she asked.

Ynyr seemed to brighten up a little when the woman gave him the lolly pop. He murmured a little thankyou and nodded his head. "Yes... Ashie and Mummy are outside." He replied
"Look Yn. Now you have one just like daddy." Zack said, pointing to the mirror.
Ynyr looked and gave a happy giggle from behind his tears, "Yay!" He exclaimed.

[The Painted Lady]

"You better give this to your sister then," the woman smiled, handing a second lollipop to the little boy.
"Okay Sir, that will be eight gil," she said to Zack.

Ynyr smiled when the woman gave him another lolly pop. "Thankyou... Ashie will like this." He said happily.
"Thanks for that." Zack said, handing the woman the money. "I think he barely noticed."
