Zack smiled gently and watched as Ynyr grinned happily about the idea of being a big boy and turned back to playing with his sister. The SOLDIER came to stand beside his partner with a gentle sigh.
"I know i wanted a son to follow me into my line of work, but i didn't mean for him to so desperate to be like me." He frowned, "I'm not being too hard on him or anything am I?" He was worried that this image his children had painted of him, the invincible one, would not be a good thing in the long run. Especially not for his son.

Aerith wrapped an arm around Zack's waist gently, leaning into him a little.
"Of course not. He's young, and he loves you."
She smiled up to him.
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," she said, giving him a gentle squeeze.
"And I'm glad you're his role model."
She reached up to kiss him gently.
"It was his choice after all, wasn't it? You didn't suggest the earring?..."

"No, he chose it himself." Zack said, looking over to where Elmyra played with the twins, "All i said was that I wanted to get him something nice as well, because i'd bought something for his sister." He sighed and shook his head, still plagued with concerns and 'what ifs'.
"Maybe we should've been more careful with our stories... if something were to happen to me it would be twice as hard on them... because they seem to think i'm invincible."

"They love your stories though... And lots of children idolise their parents when they're young. It's not unusual. Enjoy it while it lasts."
"Besides," she said, placing a hand on his chest, "nothing is going to happen to you. We're just going to enjoy a nice, as-close-to-normal-as-we-can-get life, okay?"

Zack was hesitant to agree with Aerith, knowing well enough that some circumstances were beyond control and that he would never be able to stand by if Gaia needed defending... there was always the possibility.
"Of course." He finally replied, it was with genuine feeling, he surely hoped they could. He pulled Aerith close with one arm while his other hand moved to rest atop hers that had come to stop on his chest.

"And you're SURE about this Yn?" Zack asked as they headed over to the chemist where they were going to get Ynyr's ear pierced. The little boy had bounded into Aerith and Zack's bedroom at a ridiculous hour to announce that he had decided he wanted his ear done XD
"Yes daddy!" Ynyr said, sounding exasperated, "I want it done." He pouted, obviously getting tired of everyone asking him every few seconds.

"What's wrong baby?"
"I dun wanna watch," she said, muffled into Aerith's jacket.
Aerith suppressed a laugh.
"That's okay. Someone will wait with you outside."
She looked to Ynyr.
"Do you want me to take you Yn? I can get rid of the pain if it hurts. Or do you think you'll be able to handle it and just go with Daddy?"

Zack gave Aerith a small smile, trying not to look too worried, before he and Ynyr went inside. Zack went straight to the counter and cleared his throat to attract the attention of the woman there.
