[Sparkles]

In Rome almost 2000 years ago, the creature did not stand out with her wings concealed. She looked, to the common passer-by, like the average kori of the gods.

With her pink sash loosely held in place around her torso, she found a place on earth where she was not stared at; a place where she was treated as if she were meant to be present.

A place of tranquillity and peaceful beauty, the temples of ancient Rome, although they were not dedicated to her, gave her great comfort.
All day the creature had watched the goings on in the city of white stone and golden statues, and it amazed her that within a place filled with such violence and blood shed, there were places of peace. However, even in a place of beauty such as the temple of Venus, there was blood.
Watching from behind a white stone column as blood was spilled before the throne of the Italian goddess of love, the creature stared with open curiosity. She did not understand the need in man for killing.. but she would not interfere.
Seemingly unfazed, the creature retreated from the temple out into the open streets of Rome without a single look back into the place of scared peace and crimson beauty.

[Elario Luminus]

The roar of the crowd rang in his ears, and sweat and blood, not all of it his own, dripped from his brow as he focused on the latest contestant to enter the Arena. His stance was low and still as he watched his opponent circle him with a vicious predatory look in his eyes, and tightened his grip on his halberd. His opponent cried out and charged the champion with his broadsword, which was promptly blocked and redirected. The challenger stumbled and quickly turned to attack again, but was slapped down face-first into the dirt by the blunt end of the champions halberd. The champion span his weapon and cut the sword arm and opposite shoulder of his opponent, rendering him useless.

Dawdling along the side of the street, away from the temple, she kept a slow pace, running her fingers along the grimy wall beside her. She felt drawn by this place, yet she had not as of yet come to a conclusion as to why.
As she walked, unsure as to her destination, she was passed by a small horse-drawn caravan, small enough to pass between the buildings without any serious issues.
The horse, a gorgeous speckled lusitano mare, threw up her head as she passed the creature; obviously a beast more in-tuned than most. The driver ignored the creature as he and his passed her by.

Her attention already drawn by the horse's reaction, the creature turned once the caravan had passed her by. Without having to see inside the caravan, she knew what it was carrying; two slaves - or, more formally, gladiators.
Truly having no opinion on the ethics of what she 'saw' inside the caravan, she followed along behind it in attempt to see where it led her.
