OK Guys, I just thought I'd bring this to everyone's attention, even if just as a precaution. This caught my eye when it started floating around teh facebooks this morning. It's an act the American Government is toying with that will allow them to Censor websites that have illegal material on them. It could be just about anything that'll qualify. Even this board could be counted!So go here, sign it, just to be sure. It may not really be anything, but better to be safe than sorry, right? americancensorship.org/ |

Even of they pass something like this, they can only censor American IP addresses. It's pretty hard to govern the Internet - you'd need international law, and like hell anyone will let American law dictate their own.
I doubt it'll pass. Look how successful Gillard's government was, trying to censor Australian Internet.

I haven't done any research to be honest. Like I said, just a rush job precaution. Not a well researched imminent threat.

DA staff member Spyed says that if it passes the whole of DA could be under fire, so I'd say it could be a wide-spread thing, but considering that NOONE I have seen on the internet likes the idea? it won't pass, but better to be safe of course |
