"Perez wants us to do a routine scout of the area, map out high-points and the usual stuff like that." He checked his ammo in his Assault Rifle, and made sure his side-arm and sniper were attached properly. "How are you doing?" Alex was unusually forward with Cora. He was not the type to lead or to even engage in conversation with anyone, but things on this planet were getting strange, and had grown quite fond of Cora in a sort time. He wanted to make sure he had someone he could count on when things inevitably went to shit.
"Agreed," Said Teryn. "That is where we are headed then, stay on alert as we approach the objective." Teryn led his squad down further into the installation to find 'it'. He was not told what 'it' was, and he doubted even the Hierarchs knew what was down here. They just knew it was forerunner, and so we wanted it. The presence of heretics troubled him though, could it be that whatever it was they were protecting is so important, or powerful that they think the covenant should not have it? Does not matter, the Covenant will have it and he would be the one to deliver it, over a sea of heretic corpses.
Further down the installation, Teryn and the squad entered a long hallway, to the left of the hallway was a small decline, and down the middle of the decline and the hallway was support columns that glowed a dull blue. There was a small group of unggoy and a pair of Kig-Yar on patrol. Teryn gestured at Cthar to take out the Kig-Yar on the left, while he snuck up on the other one. The rest of the squad started silently eliminating the sleeping Unggoy.
