Macari nodded solemnly at Arik's words, and whisked them up into his arms instantly. It was a mere instant, and they were there. He looked at them in turn, and pushed them higher; onto his back for their comfort as well as his own ease of movement. Tossing his head to the side, to view them over his shoulder; Macari spoke to the twins.
"Pray, hold on tightly then, pups. It's going to be a bumpy ride." and as he said this, he felt a tremor beneath his feet. The breeze changed and all he could smell was the acrid and putrid stench of armoured, sweaty humans heading in the direction of the Adrinite haven. He was going to have to move like lightning, to escape their sight and presence enough to keep the pair safe. Waiting till they'd attached themselves carefully.

Arik helped his sister onto the creature's back first, making sure the sobbing girl was well attached before he climbed on himself, clutching tightly. Neither of them were used to this kind of stress, and neither of them would have ever travelled this fast before.

Waiting until they were solidly attached to him, Macari began with a steady trot...that quickly evolved into a fast gallop, and then even faster than the Adrinite's would have imagined him capable of. The distinct method of travel, was invigorating enough to strengthen all of Macari's senses as he weaved through the treeline; heading steadily deeper into the centre of the forest. As he ran, he felt the bonds of his brood-brother and sister tugging at him, vastly aware of his need to separate himself from the location of battle. No bond between Huan was stronger than that of siblings. While he could feel his pack, he could almost literally hear the breath of his siblings, as they rushed toward the human soldiers they would fight till the fighting was no longer necessary.
At this speed, Macari couldn't communicate with the twins on his back, nor would they have bee able to hear him, but he was reaching a vastly safer location than where they had been but minutes before. They were deep enough in the forest, that it was beginning to remind him of a jungle, and close enough, he could whisk them away, into the wide world, if it became essential. He slowed as slowly as he dared, and when he reached a complete stop, he felt the weight of the Adrinite's shift. He assumed it had been from the velocity, that they'd all begun to seem lighter, but he didn't know yet. He only hoped they were both still there...

The twins would drop from Macari's back the moment he came to a stop. Both seemed somewhat afraid, and Arik had cuts all over him from the lashing branches of the tree, but he seemed to have protected his sister from it. "What now?" Kira whimpered, hugging up to her brother, her concerned fingers tracing over the lines that covered her brother's skin. She always hated to see him bleed, especially when the damage was caused because he was protecting her.

Macari twisted around, his canine ears perking at a distant sound, and scented the air. The smell of his brood-siblings strong in the air. Their scent comforted him instantly - the ability to stand by their side once more, a beautiful possibility.
"My pack. Has come, pups." he grinned his animal grin, as he felt the first real sensation from his brethren in the back of his mind. The Land-Mother's graces shone on them today.

"Are you sure they'll be able to handle the humans?" Kira asked, anxiously huddling up to her brother.

(( lol. Fair enough, that. Someone's been a bit too busy to focus. ))[/color] Macari nodded slowly; his brethren and pack could handle a few humans, but he was quite desperate to lend them his support. He didn't wish for them to be fighting a battle that wasn't their's, without his presence. How he would explain that to the twins was a difficulty he just simply had to face. "I know they can handle things, pups; but it is my wish to assist them with this danger. It's not that I don't prize your safety, but my pack was drawn into this conflict by my actions. Not their's. I have to assist them, soon. Would you be able to hide, and continue heading deeper into the forest, while I deal with the humans? I will return for you, by the Land-Mother's grace." he said, looking from one twin to the other.

Kira and Arik looked at each other as their wolfish companion asked if he could leave them to go protect their tribe with his pack. Kira seemed a little against the idea, clutching her brother's arm tightly and shaking her head desperately. Arik however whispered softly in the girl's ear, a hand cupping the side of her face and stroking it gently with a thumb. They seemed to argue for a minute before Kira fell silent with a sob, and Arik turned to look at Macari. "We'll keep moving. Just be careful, alright?" Arik said, his once innocent eyes now severe. "We want to see you again." "NOT bleeding," Kira added.

Macari smiled wolfishly, happy to hear that they'd keep moving. He wasn't interested in having them be caught, before he could get back to them. He wasn't gonna let his pack fight without him, for a cause he'd dragged them into. He was ready to do his best to force back the human assault on the Adrinite village, to provoke war, would be bad; but to show this 'Shadow King' that the damages to his forces prove too high, to try again.
"I shall be back, pups." he responded, trying to be as persuasive as his voice would allow.
With that, he burst into a maximum speed sprint, back towards the village, and his fighting sisters and brothers.
