The wolf grumbled slightly, looking rather disappointed that Waka didn't want to play, but she understood he was wounded and exhausted still, so she stood up and nuzzled his hand slightly before wandering over to the tree and sitting down to wait for the man to follow.

Waka gave Ammy an apologetic look when she whined, obviously disappointed that he wouldn't romp with her. Under better circumstances he would have been more than willing, but he didn't want to aggravate his wounds and render himself useless when they had so much work to do. He followed after the white wolf slowly, watching as she seated herself elegantly at the foot of the tree. He moved to sit beside her, leaning back against the tree with a content sigh. There was a gentle breeze in the trees now, but it was still pretty warm. "Tomorrow, when we are both well-rested, we will set out to continue your intervention."

The She-wolf barked a reply and moved so she was sitting right next to Waka, before she laid down comfortably, with her head on his lap. Her deep golden eyes looked up towards the sky, to watch the clouds roll by as the sun slowly sank in the blue above them. The way the breeze just gently shifted her fur made the light reflect from it beautifully, as though each individual hair were made of crystal. The wolf briefly though to herself of the perils and rewards that might lay ahead of them as she drifted into sleep, with a yawn, curling her tail elegantly around in front of her. As she fell into sleep, the flames that danced from her solar disc continued to dance, giving off their splendid glow and warmth even as the wolf dreamed peacefully.

Waka ran his digits through Amaterasu's coat as he closed his eyes. Sleep did not come quite so easy for him though. He tried his hardest for a time, before he surrendered and raised his eyes to he heavens to watch the moon slowly rise. The suffering he had unwittingly wrought on this place pained him, but what hurt more was his uncertainty. Had his people stuffed that arc full of vicious monsters so that it could be used as a weapon? Had they used his curiosity as a mode of sending their destruction all around the other worlds? Was he the pawn of a truly evil race, or had it all been a big mistake? He didn't know if he'd ever know the truth, so he took a deep breath and closed his eyes, beckoning sleep in to drown out the thoughts. Even if his tribe was truly evil, he was not. He was different.

Amaterasu woke in the morning to the feel of warm sunlight on her fur and a soft breeze ruffling it slightly. She lay there for a minute to enjoy the warm morning air for a minute longer, before she carefully wriggled her way free of Waka's hand, careful not to wake him. She then sretched her long legs, digging her claws briefly into the soil before she bounded over to the riverside, first taking a drink of the cool, clear water, before she jumped in, paddling under the water a moment and then surfacing with a flick of her muzzle, her tail flicking in a circle. Immediately and lilypad appeared beneath her, lifting her from the water so she could lay down on the leaf and wriggle around a little, scratching her back and scrubbing her white fur whilst she was at it. Issun may have called her no-bath Ammy, but every now and then she did actually enjoy taking a quick bath to keep her fur soft. She then jumped back in to paddle to shore before climbing out of the water onto the soft grassy bank. She then shook herself off vigorously, water droplets flicking everywhere from her now-clean white coat. She looked up then to see if her human companion had woken yet, golden eyes glittering slightly in the morning sunlight.

Waka had woken only shortly after Ammy had moved away. The change in weight on his lap had stirred him. He was a little anxious about letting the white wolf out of his sights. The last time he'd allowed them to go their seperate ways, she'd met her painful demise at the hands of their most hated enemy. He had no intention of letting something like that happen again. He didn't have much left in his life, but protecting his treasured Goddess seemed like a good enough way to spend his time. He'd straightened a little and produced his flute from his belt, which he'd activated into its sword form. The blade of light spluttered and fizzled, not maintaining its straight form properly. He had some strange looking tool it his hand with which he repaired the musical weapon.
He glanced up when he heard Ammy climb out of the river, smiling softly as he watched her send a cascade of rainbow reflecting droplets into the air. He'd stay where he was until he matched her golden gaze with his own, before returning his eyes to his work.

Ammy's ears pricked up when she saw what Waka was working on, her tail wagging before she ran over to sit before him and watch him at work, tail tapping a happy little rythm on the grass. She watched intently, golden eyes following every movement the man's hands made, as though she were learning how he went about repairing his strange weapon.

Waka glanced up from time to time, noting how intently Amaterasu watched him work. The weapon was not all that complicated to repair, provided one knew how it was constructed. He'd built his own weapon, so he has no problems at all. The flute portion of the device was unique, he'd done it for his love of earthly music. "Almost done, then we'd best get moving," he said absently to the wolf.

The goddess barked a reply, eyes still fixated on the strange sword as its form became more stable the longer Waka worked. After a moment, her ears flicked back slightly, her sensitive hearing picking up on some distant sound. The wolf turned her head to look into the forest behind them, with a soft growl, eyes narrowing for a moment before she turned back around, her expression relaxing again, focusing her attention back on Waka's work.

Waka tensed when Ammy growled at something he could neither see nor hear. His hand went to rest on his other sword that rested at his hip. "Trouble Ma Cherie?" he asked, staying poised for battle until it seemed the goddess was calm once more.

The wolf shook herself in a negative indication, having merely heard the presence of many demons ahead. She'd momentarily feared they may have to fight now rather than later, but the enemy had not shown themselves. The wolf now seemed less cheerful and more on the side of impatient; her tail flicking slightly in anticipation and kneading the grass slightly with her paws. The look in her eyes seemed apprehensive and eager all at once, the desire to right the darkness nearby evident.

Waka could tell from the flick of her tail that Amaterasu was getting edgey. So he deactivated the strange sword and put it back in his belt. "Let us be on our way. It is past time we ended his demon blight." He gave his long hair a flick as he got to his feet, waiting for Ammy to lead the way.

The wolf jumped to her feet, with a bark of agreement, turning to start walking before she stopped briefly, looking at Waka then jerking her head to her back with a bark, a querying look in her eyes. It seemed she was still fearful of the man's wounds and didn't want him over-doing things.

Waka tilted his head slightly and raised an eyebrow, before he seemed to realize what it was that held up the goddess. "I am fine, mon amie," he assured as he caught up with her. "Go at your pace, I can keep up."

The she-wolf paused a moment longer to look back at Waka, eyes staring intently into his for a moment, before she turned to keep going, keeping at a pace that Waka could keep up with as she lead the way through the forest, the trees suddenly becoming much less healthy as they came across a dark and shadowed area where the demons roamed...Ammy skidded to a halt here, inches before the ground melted away into blackness, and stagnant smoky air choked the life from every living thing in reach...this is what she had feared...a cursed zone in a place with no Guardian Saplings...she'd have to find another way to lift the curse here.
The wolf paced aggravatedly back and forth along the edge of the cursed zone, growling and whining in a fearful and angry manner, golden eyes scanning for a way around to somewhere they might find a way to lift the curse. Her powers wouldn't help here, so long as the earth remained dead and infertile and the air remained bleak and tainted. Even her brilliant white coat dulled to much less of a glow here, the sunlight filtered away from this place by dark clouds of curse-fog.
