Beth stumbled a little as they neared the infirmary. The pain in her side had flared up from moving. Her head spun violently and she had to stop for a moment to grip her head and remain balanced. Obviously, she was still losing blood; the rate of loss increased by walking.

Calin had of course heard the stumble and promptly stepped forward to scoop the princess up in a dignified fashion.
"A million pardons milady." He said, entering the infirmary, where he was immediately waylaid by many nurses who took Beth to a bed and began treating her wound.
Calin, as always, stood dutifully at the door.

Beth didn't even bother to object to Calin's sudden gesture, she wasn't sure she would have been able to go much further anyway. She shut her eyes out of complete exhaustion as she was transferred to a bed. She winced every so often as the nurses treated her wound. It hadn't numbed yet and it was sensitive to every little touch. Beth even gave a small cry as one of the nurses cleaned the wound a little too roughly. Other than that, she remained completely silent, eyes fused closed tightly.

Calin's hand would instinctivly reach for his sword everytime the princess cried out in pain... it was very hard to dull down his highly sensitive reflexes... especially seeing as they worked on hearing instead of seeing.

Eventually the nurses surrounding Beth started dispersing. One of the women remaining helped her to sit up on the bed, and it was only then that she realised Calin was still at the doorway.
"You didn't have to stay, you know," she said, almost a little curiously.
She adjusted her position, wincing a little, but the pain was definately starting to dull down now.

Beth looked at him thoughtfully.
"Well, in that case, thankyou. And thankyou for helping my brother and I at Lartonia... I would probably be a lot worse off if it wasn't for you."
She spoke softly and with all sincerity. She felt she had a lot to owe to him.

Calin gave her an understanding nod.
"I'm sure you could have look after yourself... but do not worry Princess... you owe me nothing." obviously he'd picked that up from the grateful tone in her voice.

Beth canted her head to the side a little, looking up at the Keshian knight with a smile.
"Well, I do, even it you don't believe so," she stated.

Calin remained where he was for a few minutes before he straightened from the wall and made his way across the room slowly but confidently. He scuffed the floor with his feet occasionally using the sound to determine where things were (yes his hearing is THAT good)
He also used where the Princesses voice had come from the help him over. He found the chair and sat... hoping he would not seem at all disrespectful for doing so.

Beth smiled as Calin sat down, leaning forward briefly to kiss him quickly on the corner of his mouth.
"There you go - my proper thankyou. Now, when are you taking me for this ride? In all honesty, one or two days and I should be right, provided things go smoothly."
