Beth's head snapped back to look at a very nervous Kaabel.
"I didn't say that," she said quickly, making sure she hadn't offended him. "We just... need to be careful, that's all. The fate of two kingdoms could be affected by what we do today." She sighed. "Not that that's half obvious... or any pressure for that matter..."

Kaabel simply shrugged when she spoke again, claiming that she didn't think so. Hm, honestly, the Prince doubted that. Granted, he had never truly had that great of a self image and quite frankly he always thought he wasn't worth any amount of trouble. What he was doing now, he had to admit, was to gain some sort of favor in the eyes of the people. He had to...especially since he was the heir to the throne. "Let's just go in, Beth..." He murmered before trotting to the gate and halting before them. Instantly, they swung open upon an abrupt order from one of the guards. So, he waltzed in, headed for the stables, placed his steed inside, and headed directly for his Father's quarters. This was it. This was the time that he needed to remain as serious as possible...he couldn't let his father intimidate him.

Beth nodded silently, following her brother. She decided she would be here to back him up only, try not to butt-in as she normally did. This was Kaabel's time to shine. She could hear her heart thumping as she dismounted and fell into step behind him towards their father's quarters. She was starting to realise that this was major business. It was up to them now to secure and safe many innocent people's lives. They had to get this right.
((sorry about the majorly crappy short post, but i'm being kicked off the net >.< oh and who's gunna be the king and stuff?... O.o ))

Kaabel was tense as he walked down the hallways towards his father's quarters. Honestly, the prince didn't care as to whether or not he interrupted something important, because as far as he could tell, his business was far, far more important than anything his father was currently in the middle of. As he approached, he paused, swallowing thickly before raising a fisted hand and knocking on the doors. It was do or die, now...

Lartonia's king sat at his table, eating a sizable plate of numerous varieties of food. When a knock came to the door he turned to face it and frowned, wiping his face in a rather unorthodox way.

Kaabel marched into the room, a completely serious expression on his face. Naturally, he would probably be questioned as to why he left and where he was, but that wasn't the problem at the time. "Father!" He spoke abruptly, walking towards the table only to slam his hands on the surface of it. "What is the meaning of this? This war against Keshia? Are you out of your mind?! Going against them is mad! You do this and you will be putting our entire country at jeopardy! Do you honestly want so many people to die?!" Oh my, this was certainly a first! Kaabel was speaking out before the King?! He was actually stating his own opinion rather than following those of others? Very interesting....

The king blinked in confusion for a few seconds before he went as red as a tomato. He was ticked.
"How DARE you assault my judgment like that. You are MY son and as long as you are you will shut up and stay in line! You have seen Keshia's lands surely! They are fair for farming, undamaged and most of they're peaceful! It's provinces do not war with each other. A kingdom that great needs a proper ruler, not some washed up invalid and his incompetent children!"
He scowled, his dark eyes glaring at his 'son'.
"The lives that we lose will be nothing compared to the glory and riches it will bring. They're just peasants anyway, since when did you care Kaabel?"

Now that she had heard her father say that he was intent on fighting Keshia from his own mouth, Beth stepped in the room behind her brother.
"Since these 'peasants' are people too," she interrupted, her tone calm despite her feeling of anger and hatred towards her father.
"They're our people, they're our responsiblty. How can you call yourself the King of the Lartonians if you don't have their best interests in mind?"
