Mai grinned and gave a cheeky wink.
"Hm, well. Let's hurry back, i have to check on Kai."

Bai smiled as they drew up into the small gravel road. He made sure everyone was out of the car before getting out himself. "I need to go and retrieve something from the plane. I'll be back soon. Go inside and wait for me in the lounge" he disapeared suddenly. Leo and Micheal took the girls inside the house.

Xuan stood in Kai's doorway for a few brief moments, "They're here" he gave her a reasuring smile; whatever had happened had passed

Mai did as instructed and went to the Lounge, She entered just as Kai did.
Good shopping Mai? Kai asked, slightly happier then usual.
Mai smiled and nodded in reply "Yes, just wait till you see."

Xuan entered the room and flopped himself down in one of the lounge chairs. For some reason Leo and Micheal had made themselves scarce. Xuan gave a very fake yawn, "Now... where is my little Simone?" he looked about, pointedly not looking behind him.
"AH!" he yelled, SImone had jumped him from behind and was covering his eyes with her smal petite hands. He took hold of her hands and stood up. "Who's that? Who's blinding me?"
Simone wrapped her little legs around him and giggled, "Guess who, daddy?"
Xuan stopped walking into things, "Hrmm... Leo? Is it Leo?"
"Silly Daddy! Guess again! It's NOT Leo!"

Kai giggled silently, subconsciously envisioning herself joining in on the fun, like she was part of a family again, a warm hand on her forearm jerked her out of her fantasy.
Mai was standing next to her, smiling kindly.
If anyone knew exactly how Kai worked, it was Mai. After all, she'd been there when Kai was a baby.

"Not Leo?.. But you sound like Leo to me. Then again, you don't eigh the same as Leo. Oh, please tel me who you are. I'm at your mercy" at his last word he grabbed her hands and spun her around to face him. "Si-MONE!" he look at her aghast. "YOU blinded me?... but why?"
She giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck, hiding her face, "I have a present for you daddy! It's on your head!"
Sure enough there was a pair of black tinted, black rimmed sunglasses on his head. Simone slipped them down and over his eyes. These looked very peculiar, matching his attire... but not.
"haha, Now you look like Leo!"
"I do too." he sat back on the couch but she still clung to him. He wrapped her up in his arms and whispered something in her ear which made her giggles even harder.

Bai appeared on the couch next to Xuan and used his index finger to call the girls over.

Mai of course stepped forward without any hesitation, her unfaultering trust in Bai propelling her feet forward, she stopped however when Kai's arm reached it's limit. Mai, who had been holding her hand, realised Kai hadn't moved, and was standing with a somewhat shy and hesitant look on her face.
After a brief bout of calming words, Kai stepped forward too.

Bai Hu grinned at Mai and patted his leg, indicating for her to move and sit on him instead of the couch. "Xuan has a few things that he'd like to say"
Xuan looked at Bai Hu with a disapproving frown. The tiger gave a hearty chuckle and waved this away, "Okay, so actually I do. We know where Wong is" his grin turned darker, and his eyes glowed a little darker for the moment.

Xuan took Kai's arm and lowered her onto the couch beside him and Bai, "Before you get worried. Remember that he is just one prince. He's nothing"

Kai did feel the nerves explode into her chest at this news, only to feel comforted when Xuan tugged her to sit beside him.
Has he followed me again? She asked, even her mind voice was quivering with fear.

Mai skipped over and draped herself across Bai's lap. Even her expression darkened at the mention of Kai's woe.

[Sparkles]

"No. He has no idea that you are here. All he knows is that you are with me, and he knows me well enough to know that he won't get anywhere near you unless I am what I was yesterday, turning into just a shell of nothingness."
"Unless daddy gets sick" Simone corrected him.
Xuan gave her a little squeeze and with a bit of persuasion she left to go and play with Kwan Yin.

Kai nodded understandingly, though still feeling her brief period of security slipping from her grasp.

Mai emitted a low, menacing grumble from somewhere deep in her chest, a trait she'd inherited from her bouts as a wolf.

[Sparkles]

Xuan stood up. "Kai, may I speak to you alone please?" he left the room. He then entered hers and sat down on a chair that was facing the bed.

Bai tightened his grip a little around Mai's waist, subtly saying that it was a good idea.

Mai watched Kai stand and leave the room with an anxious look on her face.
"You'd never let anyone touch my little Kai... would you Bai? She safe here?" She seemed a little nervous and needed reassurance.

Kai entered her room, sending a curious glance towards Xuan as she took a seat on her bed.

[Sparkles]

Bai nodded with no hesitation. "She is safer here then she is anywhere else" he assured her; nuzzling the dip between her neck and collarbone.

'You have the choice to leave if you wish. We are not holding you captive. Knowing where he is makes him no more threatening then he was a moment ago before we knew this information. he began. 'We leave in the morning, and will be heading to china. I have an apartment there that matches the one you have aleady seen perfectly. This is because it is the same one. I can maintain my energy longer when near My Mountain"

Kai almost instantly shook her head at this.
As long as you don't mind me being here, i might as well stay. Plus, i'd feel like the wikid witch of the west with Mai if i made her leave.
