Kai had spent the whole day since her exit from the kitchen, laying on her bed staring at the ceiling. Mai had gone out with the others to see the city, but inwardly Kai was glad they hadn't asked her, she wasn't really feeling up to go anywhere anyway.
She sat up and looked towards the door, noting the shadow that had appeared a short while before was still present.
Are you coming in, or not? She projected to whoever was there.
Mai meanwhile was enjoying her time out, even if she still felt like she was being watched by Michael, which she no doubt was, but oh well, not everything could go according to a plan. The city was beautiful, even more so then she had imagined.

"Yes" in his mind, he sounded the same as he would normally; unintentionally his voice sounded like velvet felt when caressed the right way. He gently opened the door, careful not to break it with his newly given energy. He stood in the doorway, not sure as to what to do. The only females he had encountered in the last few years were his five year old daughters and other celestials. His students and employees. Kai was either of these, so he felt like he should be... something? He wasn't too sure of himself around her... just great. This was what the tiger did. NOT HIM!
"How are you feeling now?" he was cautious not to step into her room. He was certain she would be sacred to some degree of what he was capable of... maybe it could give her some comfort to believe that he couldn't step over the threshold without her permission? Like vampires? ...
Bai grinned as they approached a very ancient styled building. I took on the classic essence of, 'Don't shop here unless you have money'.
Simone jerked her hand out of Leo's large she and ran over to her Uncle, tugging on his waistcoat in what could be considered desperation, "Pleeeease?" she asked in her sweetest voice. Bai chuckled and turned to Mai, holding out his arm, "Shall we, madam?" his eyes sparkled with mischief but the rest of his body looked innocent... or at least as innocent as he could get.

Upon his entrance, Kai sat up and hugged her knees to her chest.
I don't know how i feel... i don't know how i should feel... Her eyes flicked to the dicarded sketchbook beside her bed and she bit her lip as tears began to sting at her eyes for no apparant reason.
I need to show you something. she 'said', grabbing the sketchpad and placing it in front of her on the bed, making it obvious that he had to enter if he wished to see it.
Mai of course, stood in awe at the magnificent building before them, and when Bai held out his arm she gave a pixie like grin and placed her own upon it.
"Indeed we shall good sir, indeed we shall." She replied, giving a small chuckle beneath her breath.

Xuan nodded and walked into the room. He had been in very few of the rooms in Kwan Yin's cottage before and so it's appearance was different to what he had expected. The quilts, curtains and paintings hung up over the walls; were all dark pastels of purple, gold and black... He couldn't help feel even more relaxed as he walked into the semi-dark environment. 'What would you like to show me?' he asked, walking up to her and bouncing down into a crouch on his toes; his feet bare. He had his hands resting on the floor on either side f him. Pssht, child. Had Kwan Yin given him a bit to much shen? Going according to his smile... probably  |

Kai hugged the sketchbook to her chest briefly before she opened it and showed it too him, the most recent page.
I draw my dreams... they're never exact but... well... you look.

Xuan lent over and glanced at her sketchbook for less then a second before moving back into his crouch and looking nothing but contempt. "I won't let that happen" he said without anything but a little authority?

Xuan sighed, the smile returning, but softer. He put his hand over hers and closed the book with his other before resting it with the other. "Do you trust me?" he asked gently, saying where he was and trying to seem as unintimidating as possible. His appearance made this almost impossible, but he was trying; and that was saying something. Normally, all held at least a slight regard of fear for the Dark Lord of the Northern Heavens; even if they didn't know it.

Kai however, found herself drowning in his calming gaze, a feeling of trust and belief flooding over her as she sucked in a great gulp of air to try and settle her fluttering stomach.
Slowly, she nodded.
yes... She replied. I'd be dead otherwise...
She curled up again, another uncertainty splashing over her. I still don't know what it is he wants from me...

Xuan shook his head, no. "'Simone Wong' would not have killed you." he started to look slightly guilty now and could only smile sheepishly, "My telling you why though, would most definitely change his mind on the matter... he removed his hands and stood up. His black hair had come loose again, and his black cape barely billowed as he sat down on the edge of her bed. He took a deep steadying breath, "Kwan Yin spoke to me not so long ago. She said that you had something to ask me? Besides this" he flicked his finger distractedly at the sketchbook.

I did? Kai asked, looking cute for the first time ever, tilting her head and blinking at him vacantly. If she had wanted to ask something, she couldn't remember it now. He'd also baffled her by telling her something and yet nothing at the same time.

Xuan's eyes blanked white for a few moments and he nodded slowly, 'Kwan Yin has explained something to me, and I am willing to consider it. Would you like to learn how to defend yourself?" his normal black eyes took on a shine. hen he grew a little serious, "That's what I must know first. If you would be willing to learn?'

Kai nodded slowly, clutching an arm to her chest.
I hate having to rely on other people to protect me.... so yes... i would love too... i might feel worth something for once in my life.

"Good." Xuan thought for barely a moment before continuing, "We will begin properly when we return home, but I would like to know; what do you already know about defending?"
Everytime he would talk to her mind, his eyes would glow white; then back to black once he was finished. Before she could answer him, he cut in, 'And I request that you remove the glasses'

Kai's eyes saddened a little at his request, but, hesitantly, she reached up and removed the glasses that Mai and given her, designed to protect her eyes from the Auras of those around her, the moment it was shed the somewhat frightening swirl of black surrounding Xuan returned.
Instinctually, Kai wrenched her eyes closed, frightened. In truth, her gift terrified her.
I... i doubt that i know anything. She replied, her mind voice a little distracted.
