Aiden smiled skeptically, "You don't even have daylight savings. How come? It's not like it's all that much effort to move a hand on a clock twice a year..." He grinned, "Nah, I'm joking. I wouldn't do it. i'd turn up to work two hours late and tell Rayn I never got the memo."
Putting all his wrappers together he got up and put them in the bin before sitting back down across the table from Andy. She was gorgeous... she really was.. and so long as Australia had Andy, Aiden would be pro-Australia.

"This is the West Aiden," Andraste reasoned, a smirk on her face. "The east coast has Daylight Savings, because the sun sets early there. Here however, it sets later already. With Daylight Savings it could be Ten o'clock at night before the sun goes down."
She shook her head quite energetically. "I like it to be dark by at least eight."

"hmm.. yeah i s'pose. But still, i'd love to be able to sleep in.. Rayn is an ass. He calls me at 3am just for shits and giggles, i swear. Then when he wakes up he expects me to be there ready to serve his every whim."... and again he'd gone back to Rayn! whyyyy?!?! He was trying to get her mind off the Dark Hunter, not ON him.
Mentally cursing himself, Aiden just smiled, "Uh.. yeah so anyway, do you have a job? And more importantly, do you like it?"

One of Andy's eyebrows rose curiously as Aiden ranted on about his 'uncle', who Andy felt it was now safe to assume was his boss in some way. She was quite amused by the sudden change in topic as well, wondering why her companion seemed both eager to talk about Rayn and eager to get off the topic of him at the same time.
"I do, yes," she answered his question casually. "I work the night shift at a local 24 hour deli three nights a week."
She brushed at a lock of her dark fringe, tucking it back behind one heavily pierced ear.
"It makes me some decent money without really having to deal with too many people. It's not the best job in the world though, i'll be honest."

"Sounds like you could do with a new job" Aiden ran his hand through his hair, "Um... just so that i'm not stuck tonight, do you know of any good hotels around the place?
His squire salary was enough to make his bank account a very happy place, but once he got his own place, which would have to be close to Rayn, he'd be able to settle down some.
And even though she'd rejected him at this early stage, he really hoped Andy would reconsider after some time.

Andy suggested some nice hotels, took Aiden on a little bit of a tour and then headed home. By the time they got back to her place it was twilight, the sun already on its final legs of the journey across the sky. Andy made Aiden wait as she watered her rather nice look garden and she hummed a gentle tune as she worked, actually pausing a moment to stroke the leaves of the large trees as she watered them. When she was finally done she apologised, and unlocked the front door, gesturing for him to go in first.

Having woken up only a few minutes earlier, Rayn sat on the couch. Dressed back in his coat he stood up as the door was opened. He'd refrained from leaving to go to his apartment because he had planned on thanking Andraste for her hospitality. "Good night" he greeted the two of them as they walked through the door. He watched as Aiden cringed at the sight of his clothing. he'd kept his sweater off and now had on dark jeans, black studded thigh-high black boots and his coat, which connected at the front at his stomach level , showing off the smooth, well defined muscles of his chest.
It was much simpler to take his coat off when fighting if the need arose than anything else. Aiden knew this, but he didn't really care. 'MUST you dress like that infront of Andy?!'
Rayn frowned and rose one of his eyebrows in question at Aiden before looking back towards Andraste, "Thankyou for your hospitality last night."

Andy didn't seem at all surprised or entranced by Rayn's appearance, though there was appreciation in the back of her mind for such a well-toned physique.
"You're welcome," she replied with a small smile, absently adjusting one of her leather cuffs. "Sorry that you got held up by those bloody custom guys, they're usually good... you must've just got them on a bad day."
She glanced at Aiden, noting the strange look of irritation on his face, she had to hide her own amusement at it.

Rayn smirked, "I just don't think they liked me. It's not the first time." he shrugged it off.
"Right.. so you can go to work now, right? Aiden was sure he'd lose anything he had with Andy in mere minutes if they kept talking.
Rayn's expression changed to one of annoyance, "Watch your tone, boy. And I can't do anything until you give me my toys."
Although they looked barely a few years apart in age, one could definitely see the difference between the two when it came to who had the final say.
Aiden audibly gulped, forgetting about his previous aversion to Rayn and Andy. "Right.. I'm gonna go get them... now, kay?"
Not waiting for Rayn's answer, Aiden left the building within seconds with a short regretful smile in Andy's direction.
Rayn breathed deeply, trying to calm himself. A horde of Daimons couldn't get on his nerve, and yet with a few choice words from his squire, he was able to progress to his last.

Andy swivelled on the spot to wave to Aiden as he left, before turning back to Rayn. She suddenly felt a little on the awkward side, which was strange considering she'd been alone with him earlier that day. She shifted on the spot, folded her arms up behind her back, rocked on her heels, glanced around the room and then inhaled deeply.
"Did you... want a tea, or a coffee... or something heavier? Something to eat maybe?" she tried not to sound too flustered and awkward. She had no idea why she suddenly felt so vulnerable, when she'd felt quite in control of the situation when she'd driven him here earlier.

Feeling Andraste's change in dememure, Rayn smiled sadly, "No thankyou. You've been more than hospitable to me and I do not wish to impose. I will leave if it makes you feel more comfortable. Aiden will know where to find me if I'm not here when he returns."
Rayn stepped toward the door to indictate that he would indeed leave if it was what she required to feel comfortable.
Rayn acknowledged that he was most probably the reason for her sudden change. He knew he tended to intimidate. That there were subconscience warning signs splayed all around him. After around 2000 years, his defensive attitude became habitual; not constantly intentional. He had no intention of warding of this woman. This intelligent, inquisitive, intrieging, yet sweetishly shy woman...

Andy hurriedly fumbled for a different excuse to her behaviour, not wanting him to just get up and leave because he thought he made her nervous (even though he kind of did...).
"You don't have to go," she insisted, bringing her hands back around in front of her to swivel the ring on her finger. "I just don't often have guests so I... forget how i'm supposed to behave around them."
She offered him a smile, trying to be more convincing.
Nice save, Andy, she berated herself privately.

Rayn smiled softly, "I'm not the best when it comes to other people either. I'm not the most sociable person" he chuckled softly, sighing. He used to be sociable.. he used to have many friends. Until he'd met his wife. They'd warned him about her. They'd said that she would bring him heartache (in not so sentimental terms), but he'd called them jealous. He'd done it to himself. he'd lost everyone who every truely cared for him for the one woman who had betrayed him. All woman would lead to the same path, yet he couldn't help the ache he felt for Andraste as she struggled to make amends for an action she had no control over. "Please don't feel rude in telling me to leave" he smiled comfortingly, "You have no need for polite banter with me."
He knew his words would probably come off harsh, but he was trying to ease her... which was a change..

A slight frown crossed Andy's face, though it wasn't one of anger but rather one of curiosity.
"You say that as if talking to you is a difficult thing to do?" she offered softly, her discomfort abruptly vanished as her desire to understand even just a little took hold.

"For most, it is."
Rayn smiled at her sudden ease. "Do you know how long it takes from here to Fremantle? It's where Aiden has gone to.." rayn hadn't known the name of the place, but Aiden had thought it before running out of the door. It was the place that Aiden was headed to pick up his weapons. He didn't need them to take out the Daimon scum, but they'd be much more effective than shoving his fist through their hearts.. that could get bloody. And cruel. Rayn wasn't one for cruelty. They were Dark Hunter enemy, but they were to die with some dignity at the end of his blade.
