Ash.." Rayn glanced in Acheron's general direction, "Can you do this later? She's not up for it now."
Ash nodded once, keeping his eyes on Andy, "Let's go simi."
Simi slowely looked away from the televion to Ash, pouting as she did so, "It's just getting to the good part..."
Ash's face softened as he looked down at the girl, "You can watch it at home. Let's go"
Simi left her popcorn on the couch as both her and Acheron vanished.

Rayn frowned, wishing they'd done that in another room.
He moved to sit by Andy, but made sure he wasn't close enough to invade her space.

When she'd been taken, Rayn hadn't reacted well. He'd been very close to following the daimon into Kalosis, and would have, if Ash hadn't turned up and forced him to reason.
Kalosis was the Atlantean hell realm. The primary 'base' for all daimons and ruled but the Atlantean Goddess Appolimi. He would have fought well, and killed many, but the shear mass of daimons would have overcome him before he'd even left the main hall.
It was a suicide mission, and Acheron had his demon stay with Rayn every moment to make sure he didn't go running off to take it.

So it was without saying that he was feeling some mixed emotions about protecting her at the moment. He didn't want to scare her... not after that.. but she needed to learn what she was capable of or the moment Rayn wasn't with her, she'd be in immediate danger...

Andy flinched when the two strangers vanished right before her eyes, and as a result the glass of water she was clutching so desperately, slipped from her hands to shatter on the floor.
The loud noise must have been enough to finish her nerves off, because she immediately curled into a ball, sobbing heavily. She could still feel his fingers on her skin... still smell his breath. Her wrists still ached from her bonds, her head from the strange manner in which she'd escaped. Everything felt wrong... like something was different. Her skin prickled as if it were on fire, and her heart wouldn't slow from its racing pace.
She gripped her head with claw-like fingers, trying to make the sensations stop.

Rayn wasn't so sure what to do. He could feel her emotions almost as vibrantly as she could, yet as if he were experiencing them from behind a thin plate of glass. "Shh..." he soothed her, reaching over and gently taking her hand from away from her head, where she was leaving puffy red scratches. He lifted her hand away and held it in his. "It's okay. You're safe here.. you're safe with me. Just stay with me right now, okay? Stay here..... don't think about that.." he handed her a cushion and laid her hands on it so they wouldn't go back to her head. "It's okay.. shh" he ran his hand over the back of her head as she sobbed.

Andraste's fingers clutched the pillow tightly after he'd given it to her, and though she continued to sob heavily, it was clear his soothing was helping a little. She tried to block the images of that place out, to remember where she really was, and that she was safe, and with someone who would protect her. Without thinking she leaned against him, seeking his security.

Taking that as an indication that he wasn't one of the reasons she was scared, he sat deeper in the seat and moved so that he could wrap his arm around her back and pull her closer to him. It reminded him of the time he'd had to soothe his daughter after she'd seen one of the village boys hit a bird with a rock. She'd ran inside their home with the little dead bird wrapped in her dress and Rayn had held her while she wept for the tiny creature. He'd tried to explain to her why the bird wasn't moving, but she wouldn't accept it. She'd had such a big heart, to care for a single bird when she lived in such a time. She'd been his heart.. And when she was gone.. he'd lost it. He'd lost his heart, and he wasn't going to get it back.
Or so he'd thought. Until a few thousand years later. He was finding himself being drawn to Andraste. Completely without his control, he was finding his heart little bit by little bit.

He would continue to sit there, holding and soothing her, until she was finished crying.

Andy continued to cry for a little while, but eventually she pulled herself together. She stayed curled in to Rayn for a little while after the sobbing stopped, but eventually sat up, wiping furiously at her eyes.

Rayn pulled his arm back from around her when she moved to sit up. He felt rather tender. Normally other's emotions didn't effect him so much. Especially humans. He could dull them out with ease.. normally. Although, he supposed it was because Andraste wasn't human... not entirely anyway... although he wasn't sure if she was up to hearing about that again..
"You can't go back to your house or your job... obviously I can't protect you there. I'm sorry..." he stared at her, not really seeing, as he beratted himself internally for being such a fool. For being duped so easily. "I'm so sorry... I should have been there"

Andy looked thoroughly depressed to learn that she couldn't go home, but she couldn't really imagine herself going back to her job anyway... not after what had happened. There'd be no way of explaining what happened to her co-worker...
"Can I at least have some of my stuff?" she mumbled, obviously talking about her belongings back at hom.

[Sparkles]

Rayn nodded almost solemnly, "Yes. If you write me a list when you can then I'll have then braught over for you." he stole himself to look back up at her, his expression purely sincere, "This isn't permanent Andraste.. only until the daimon is destroyed and your life isn't threatened any longer. Then you never have to see me again."

Andy immediately began to tear up again, unable to believe what he was saying.
"You say that as if everything will be fine and I can just got back to a normal life again!" She hid her face behind her knees, sobbing heavily.
"My work mate is dead, I got attacked by some guy who wants to use me like some sort of a weapon and you told me that my father wasn't just an asshole, but some sort of other being!"
She hugged herself even tighter, her insecurity only getting steadily worse. "And now there's something wrong with me! I feel like I'm burning!"

Rayn nodded slowly, "If you choose to live life as normal, then you won't be forced to change that if that's what you wish."
He gingerly touched the corner of the pillow that Andy was holding, fiddling with the tassle as he decided what to adress next. Upon deciding it was time to bite the bullet, or so to speak, his teeth clenched ever so slightly and small creased appeared on his forhead; he wasn't looking forward to bringing up her father or her powers as of yet - but she's done the work and braught them up herself.
"If you calm.. then the burning will stop. As for your father.. he is no longer here. That is why his powers have now been transfered to his only living offspring - you. Not being fully human is not an issue unless you make it one."
He had stopped fiddling with the tassle by this point and was having to restrain himself from touching her hand.. or her cheek.. or lightly touching any part of her to try and reassure her... "Not being fully human is not even an issue... and if you let me help you then I can show you how to protect yourself and others around you so nothing like what you just left can happen again."

Andraste trusted Rayn, despite how much chaos his appearance seemed to have brought to her life. One day she'd been working her job each night and playing video games each day... but now she had a whole new box of issues to be worrying about. She focused on calming her breathing, trying to slow her heart rate and calm herself down. At first the burning didn't even soften, but gradually it began to ease, until it was just the softest tingle of her skin.
"What happens now?" she croaked.

[Sparkles]

He would smile softly, though his eyes and the rest of his features remained strained, "Now you rest. You've been through a lot in the last few days and I think you should try get a good rest.. tomorrow night, with your permission, i'd like to try begin your training" he stood up once he finished talking and outstretched his hand to her.

It took Andy a moment before she finally extended her hand to accept Rayn's. She didn't say anything though, remaining completely silent. She was at a loss for how to feel and how to react to her predicament. Everything she'd known had been thrown upside down, practically overnight.

Rayn pulled her up with ease. Once he was sure she was stable, he led her up the stair-case. Once at the top, they would see an elegant balcony rimming the top of the room, with many doors along the wall. Rayn ran his hand along the balcony until they came to the specific door he was leading her towards. Opening it up, he stepped aside for her to ente first.

The room held a large 4-poster bed which was draped with dark purple furnishings off against the right hand wall. Off to the left was an ensuite open to the room and between them, a large fluffy rug.
"If you want me to come at any time then just call for me and I will be able to hear you so long as it's in the evening or at night. At other times, it really depends on how deep asleep I am. Acheron, the man who was here before with his daughter is our.. boss, i suppose. He's allowed me time away from hunting until you are trained and able to defend yourself better than one of us.. you're completely safe in this house from him. If it makes you feel better though - the door has a bolt on it" he reached to the edge of the door and moved the bolt back and forth to emphasise his point.
