Aerith had only really just got comfortable, sitting back up in her hospital bed, when she could hear the sound of a small group approaching outside.
"Brace for impact," she laughed softly, touching the tip of her tiny son's nose. She could hear Ashlynn's voice calling out for her in the hall.
"Here come Ashie and Ynnie..."

"A-Ashie! Yn! W-wait! M-maybe we should--!" came Cloud's voice before the door flew open and the twins bailed into the room.
"Whoa whoa you two!" Zack exclaimed, blocking their path so that they couldn't launch themselves onto their mother.
Cloud followed up the rear, looking flustered and sheepish. "Sorry..." he muttered.
Tifa appeared a few moments after, smiling fondly, a special bag-like carrier strapped to her chest in which Ianthe snuggled.

"And Little Fire. Uncle Spike bought me a teddy to give him," she said, showing her father the bear... which would easily be larger than the premature baby.

He looked at Ynyr, who nodded. "Promise, papa," the boy swore.

"Gentle," Ashlynn repeated with a nod, hugging the bear she held tightly.
Behind Zack, Aerith smiled, carefully making room for the twins to sit once he let them into the room properly. She adjusted the blanket wrapped around Eden gently.
"Ready to meet your baby brother?" she asked, though Zack still blocked her view.

Zack smiled, content that the children would behave now. So he stepped aside, letting them move past him.
Ynyr came over with a hurried walk, trying very hard to be calm. He clambered up onto the bed, sitting on his knees.
"Where is he mama?" he asked, not seeing anything that he thought looked like a little brother.
Cloud and Tifa stood by the door with Zack, the blond hand his arm looped around Tifa's waist.

Aerith couldn't help but laugh a little, waiting for Ashlynn to join her brother before she carefully peeled the blanket away from her infant's face.
"You're right here, aren't you Eden?" she smiled.
"I think it's time to wake up and say hello, hm?"
Ashlynn stared for a long moment.
"He is very very little," she murmured.

"Wow..." Ynyr whispered, leaning in very close to the baby's face, blinking at him with his curious green gaze. "he really IS a little brother."
He gave a weird giggle then, "he looks funny."
The tiny bundle wiggled a little, cracking open its tiny eyes to peer at the people who'd started making all the noise and disturbed his sleep.

"Give him his space Ynnie," she urged gently.
"You don't want to scare him now."
"Hello Little Fire," Ashlynn whispered.
She wanted to kiss her little brother, but he looked so delicate and breakable. Much more so than when their baby cousin was born.
"I'm your big sister."
She seemed to swell with pride at that.
"And I love you very much, okay?"

Ynyr quirked his head to the side and looked at Ashlynn then, an almost disappointed look on his face.
"I don't think little brother will be able to have his teddy Ashie... it's bigger than he is!"
It seemed Ynyr was most fascinated by his brother's size.
"Is he supposed to be so small mama?"

Aerith couldn't help but laugh again.
"Well really, he should still be growing in Mama's tummy for a little while yet," she explained.
"But he decided he couldn't wait that long to see everyone, so he came early."
She didn't want to distress her children with the drama that had been Eden's birth.
"So that's why he's small now. But he'll catch up. We just have to be very, very gentle with him in the meantime, hm?"
She looked up then, to see Cloud and Tifa at the doorway with Ianthe.
"Thank you for looking after the twins. I'm so sorry for all the chaos..."

"Ooooh, okay!" Ynyr agreed, grinning brightly. "I'll look after him good! Like I do Ashie!"
Zack chuckled softly at his son. His little champion was growing up to be quite the defender.
"Don't worry about it," Tifa replied, answering when Cloud fumbled over his words. "Cloud's a little inarticulate again today," she giggled softly and gave him a nudge.
The blond blushed darkly before leaving her side to approach Aerith's bed. "I'm glad you're OK..." he murmured shyly.
