"Hello Grammy F!" Ynyr said with a exaggerated whisper, hugging in close to his grandmother as she picked him up. "I'm good! lookie!" He pointed to his newly pierced ear.
"Hi Mum." Zack said with a smile as she picked Ynyr up.

Zack chuckled and nodded, heading inside as his mother urged. His father was already setting out some mugs filled with steaming hot tea.
"Home grown." Gilder said as the looked up, "From our little patch in the back yard. You'll like it." he said with a chuckle. "The beds upstairs are made if yu wanna settle her down somewhere." He said, nodding to little Ashlynn.

Aerith looked down to Ashlynn, smiling lovingly.
"Nah... she'll wake up soon," she said.
Very carefully, she pulled out her chair, lowering herself with Ashlynn still secure in her arms.
"Thanks for putting us all up," she said, looking up to Libby and Gilder.

"I wasn't over-exaggerating." Gilder said in a matter-of-fact tone. "You were always asking me 'Are they back yet?' 'Do you think they're OK?' Well now you see, they are. Just like i said they would be." He smiled at Aerith. "No need to rush into that." He comforted, noting her expression, "We're just glad you're back here safely."

Aerith gave a small, relieved smile, looking down as Ashlynn started to stir in her arms.
"Mama, I'm tired..." she murmured.
"Okay sweetie," Aerith said softly, kissing her daughter gently.
"But how about you wake up and say hello to Grandma F. and Grandpa, hm? And have some dinner too, otherwise you won't sleep tonight."
"We're at Grandpa's?" the little girl asked sleepily, trying to sit up groggily in her mother's arms.

Seizing the current opportunity, Zack sidled over to his mother, "Hey mum..." He said in a quiet voice, "Can i talk to you in the kitchen?"

Aerith smiled, looking down to Ashlynn, who was quickly perking up from her sleep.
"Daddy and Ynnie bought it for me," she said cheerfully.

"That was awfully nice of them wasn't it." Gilder said with a smile, 'It suits you." He then looked up to Aerith, his smile remaining, "I hope you're well?" He asked.
Once they were alone Zack pulled shut the kitchen door and produced the ring box from his pocket, offering it to his mother.
"Take a peek." He said in a soft voice.

"Oh dear Minerva Zack! Is this what I think it is?!" Libby exclaimed in a whisper that she had to control rather forcefully.
She opened the box with a gasp.
"Oh my... it's beautiful..."
Ashlynn grinned, looking to her brother and wriggling off her mother's lap to totter over to him and climb up beside him on his chair, kissing his cheek.
Aerith smiled as she watched her children, then looked up to Gilder as he spoke to her.
"I'm glad to be home," she said softly.

Ynyr giggled as Ashlynn came to sit beside him and pulled her into a tight hug.
"Love you Ashie." He said with a giggle, blushing heavily from her kiss.
"Do you think she'll like it mother? Is it perfect? I'm so nervous... i don't know how to ask her." He wrung his hands and paced back and forth.

"Oh, she'll love it!" Libby said happily, sweeping her son up in a hug, the ring secure in its box.
"I'm so proud of you! I can't wait to start planning for everything. We can't let poor Elmyra pay for everything though - you've strayed from tradition anyway, so I think we can forget that."
