Aerith smiled, reaching up on the tip of her toes to kiss him tenderly. But she sighed as she nudged the door shut.
"I can't believe we... missed their birthday though," she said softly.
She rested her forehead on his chest.
"I kinda feared they wouldn't remember us. They're only young..."

Zack put his arms around Aerith as she leaned into him, holding her tightly and running gentle fingers through her hair.
'They could never forget the one who gave them their life... and Yuffie and Kunsel would never have let them. They love you, they're glad to have you back. They don't hate your for missing their birthday."

Aerith looked up, giving Zack a small smile. She was silent for a long time, just watching his mako blues for the moment.
"All of the things we've been through, the good and the bad... I'm glad it was always with you."
She reached up to kiss him again.
"I love you so much."

Zack just smiled back at Aerith gently, staring at her as if there was nothing else in the world for him to see. "I love you too." He said as he wrapped her warmly in his arms and pressed his lips firmly to hers.
"And... i want to make sure, that everything you always do, is with me in some way."

Zack laughed and let Aerith go, removing his pauldrons and boots before moving to run the shower.
"I was... thinking about running into town tomorrow... just to do a few things." He started to take his shirt off once he had to water right.

Aerith smiled as she kicked her clothes to the side, taking Zack's hand and moving around the curtain to join him. Her body was still dotted with bruises and hastily patched up wounds from their extended battle for Cosmos. JENOVA had been unrelenting and Genesis had been more than happy to make good on his threats to Aerith to mess with Zack's mind. It was soothing to feel the water running over her skin. She sighed softly.

The wounds were daggers to Zack's eyes, and though he'd known for some time that they were there, seeing them made it all the worse. He sighed and looked away for a moment, before his gentle hands ran along a few of the bruises very softly as to cause her no pain.
"I'm sorry. You're always getting dragged into trouble and getting hurt." He stopped for a moment, just watching her closely, going over everything in his head, all those times when they'd been separated and he'd been wrought with fear for her. He never wanted her out of his sights ever again. "Not anymore. The world will have to save its self from here on out, my family comes first."

Her free hand moved to cover one of his as he touched her bruises.
"And it would have been a lot worse if I hadn't come with you."

"How?" Zack asked, beads of water dribbling down the side of his face as his hair retained its shape even in its sodden state XD
"You could have been here where it was safe, with the kids. You wouldn't have had to worry about them and you would never have got hurt." His pale mako blues were deep with distress, the idea that Aerith had been endangered still made him worry something fierce.

"Zack, you know just as well as I do that there was a risk of Chaos destroying our entire Planet if I stayed behind."
She ran her fingers through his hair.
"Then you would have had nothing to come home to."
She dropped her arms, wrapping them around Zack's waist and moving in close to him.
"I'd much rather be a little sore than take the smallest of risks when it comes to our children, our friends and our home."

Aerith kissed Zack's chest gently, before resting her head against his collarbone. She just stood in his hold for a long moment, letting the water run over the two of them. Finally, she broke the silence.
"Come on. I know you're tired, and I'm about ready to fall asleep right here..."
