OPEN FOR PROFILES - Brink Information and Profiles
Adrenal slit the throat of the hostage and retracted the blade of his right hand. Alex, an...acquaintance of his stared at him first in shock, then horror, then rage in the space of about three seconds.
'Why the hell did you kill him!? He had information we needed about the Security forces! Now we have to try and capture another high prof-'
'No. He didn't have anything. We tried everything to interrogate him, and he was scared for his life from the start. If he didn't tell us anything then, he wasn't gonna do so now, or later. Move on, Alex.'
Alex, a Soldier, threw his hands up in the air in frustration. Adrenal felt for him; he was new to this whole business of factional war that covered the Ark like white on rice. Still, as a Soldier, it was Alex's call on everything this team did, and Adrenal had over-stepped the line again, falling on previous experiences.
Something that Alex had yet to trust.
'Security's gonna come down hard on us now. This was a diplomatic messenger! No-one in the history of Earth has ever killed a messenger and not been punished in some way.'
Adrenal sighed and rolled his eyes. 'Alex, we know this area better than they do. We could set up dozens of choke points and ambushes before they could even start organising a strike team. We'll be fine. You've seen it before.'
'Yeah, and the last time I saw it, half our team was annihilated. We lost Jeremy and Watts, all thanks to your absence!'
Adrenal remembered that day; it was something that would scar him forever. Nonetheless, he was absent from the combat for intel, intel that could change the tide of the battle.
'I already explained myself for that incident, and the Resistance Leader sanctioned my decision.'
'Whatever. For both past and present indiscretions, I'm removing you from the team. Find another post, Adrenal.'
Instantly furious, Adrenal drew his revolver and death-checked the body of the hostage, removing large chunk of bone and flesh and brain from the body, and stormed out of the darkened container.
Wanting to let himself go a little, Adrenal quickly scaled a few containers, eventually reaching the tallest point of the Crane. The resistance used the Crane as a crows nest of sorts, providing lookouts for incoming Security forces. Now, however, it served as a getaway place for Adrenal, who sat at the edge with his legs dangling over, idly twirling his pistol in his hands.
