Alario sighed and took his feet off his table and stood up. He looked over to Naiah with a wink and headed out the door quietly to collect his effects and wait by the cart.

Fix sighed, blinking away tears that had formed in his eyes courtesy of Sams fist and focused his gaze on the glass of water, but made no move to take it, intead eyeing it with a look of destain. "aye, Josephine. last i heard, well ...last i di'nt hear she'd disappeared off the side of the map, i know you don't know where she is o'wise she'd be here now, I know this thing about you Samael. You keep tabs on people, I made u that one of a kind carbine after she'd disappeared a good 4 or 5 months ago, maybe it was 6, Point be'n wy should i come with you, and spend over a day without me drink when theres codswallaps chance in hell that we'll even catch a wiff of her. I've not been expecten to see ér again for a good while now" Fix manage by force of will to stand this time and ambled toward the door, he leant against the frame to steady himself "Swing by me place noon tomorry, i'll stay off the drink til then and ill fix your weapon if you swing by, might even have something or two for you" Fix wandered out into the cold.

Sam's demeanor changed completely in an instant. For several reasons his blood boiled: Jose's very own brother was too drowned in alcohol, and Levata knows what, to show he cared. That, and he was no closer to finding her. He looked around, his new companions were looking at him. "We should keep moving, toward Insulem," His tone was low. "In fact, I don't care where we go, but we need to keep moving, that guy that attacked us will be tracking us." Sam walked outside to find that he was right, and too late. Lanius had surrounded the cart with his thugs, and was waiting for them, each of his fifteen men had an assortment of armaments pointed at them. They were also all wearing gas masks. "No where to go this time, Sam," Lanius smiled crookedly as his men dropped several round objects that exploded in a thick yellow smoke. " Nighty night."[/i] The last thing Sam heard was Lanius' laughter.
((So we all know, and i'm sure you figured it out, it's knock-out gas, whatever it's called. Point is Whoever posts next needs to set up us being imprisoned somewhere. Everyone except Kylar's Character))

Lua opened her eyes abruptly, unaware of ever actually shutting them. It was a strange sensation, realising she was waking from a sleep she didn't remember falling into, in a place she didn't remember going. The walls around her were bland and smooth, but for the strange glowing lines that seemed to run in no particular pattern along the walls. She reached out to touch one of the glowing symbols, retracting her hand hastily as a sensation like a static shock tingled at her fingers. Of course... she thought with a groan. She looked around her, noting that her companions were all there, sprawled sleeping on the floor in assorted positions, some comic and some normal. No one had their weapons... they'd all been removed. She lowered herself back to the floor, raising a knee and bracing her elbow against it. There was no obvious door to their prison, it was a well crafted oubliette, a holding made for those who were not supposed to escape.

Alario awoke with a start on his back. With blurry vision he looked up and saw the glowing lines of an obviously magical prison cell. "Dammit..." Slowly and painfully, Alario wrenched himself into a sitting position. He saw that someone else was up, but couldn't see who. "Must've been a great night for us to end up here, eh?"

Fix stumbled through the cold. As he begun to sober and start to feel the chill, he tucked his hands into the deep pockets of his knee-length mustard coloured coat that, having been stained with grease and black powder, had seen better days. He was almost home when he had a sudden pang of guilt realising on what terms he had left the man who was searching for his sister and doing more about it then her own flesh and blood was. He increased his pace towards his home, he'd grab some of the things he had thought about giving to Sam tomorrow and quickly return to the tavern, hopefully he'd still be there. Fix hoped that would do for an apology, he wasn't so good with words.

Sam awoke as if from a nightmare - a sharp inhale, and a scream. He shook his head in an attempt to get rid of the disorientation he felt as his eyes became un-blurred. He looked around to see his companions safe, and two of which were awake. He soon realized where they were. He remembered that Lanius had a stronghold of sorts just north of Sorym, near the appropriately named, Hell Gate -Which lead into North Verudia, the forefront of the Teryn lands. Where he was hoping Jose was. He pushed his dread to the back of his mind, and smiled at the others, in his usual cheeky way. "All locked up. This reminds me of this one time wh-" He cut himself off. "Never mind, that's a story I'll keep to myself." he chuckled nervously. He stood up and pressed a hand to the gap in the bars. His hand did not fall through much like you would expect. Instead a golden ripple resonated from his hands from the invisible barrier. He looked closer at the markings on the wall. They looked fimiliar, though they were in no particular shape or pattern, but something about them itched the back of his mind. There was a pattern there, somewhere. "It's night time. A new moon too," He groaned. Of all nights to need to fight for your life. "I know because my magic feels dim, on both sides of the spectrum." He looked at the other two, who looked in no better shape then he,"How are you two feeling?"

Lua had spared only the briefest of glances to Alario before she returned to looking at nothing in particular. She knew better than to struggle when there was little chance of actually getting anywhere. It was once Sam woke that she seemed to actually acknowledge that she was being spoken too. "I am trapped in a oubliette with no staff and a waning moon," she stated, her voice expressionless. "Given the circumstances, I feel well enough." She crossed one of her legs over the other and sighed softly. "However, I should very much like to know why I am being caged like an animal."
On the far side of the tiny room, Bronwyn groaned, but she did not yet stir.

((sorry 'bout that and one thing though, didn't Alario leave before the guys came and caught everyone??)) It was about then that all the voices around her woke Naiah from her sleep. She immediately noticed that 1 -she was in an enchanted cage, 2 -that she had none of her weapons and 3 -that her limited magic felt weak. She quickly summed up the situation and sat up, with a groan, rubbing the back of her neck, which ached terribly. "well, I'm assuming someone screwed some shit up..." she grumbled, turning to look at everyone who was present. She frowned slightly. "I hope we can get out of this mess quickly...I hate delays" She glanced around, working out the barrier around them was impervious to magic and as such to normal weapons as well. "If there was someone who could help us from the outside, I bet we could get out, but...I'm thinking that's not likely." she mumbled, falling silent then and turning back to everyone else.

((No, Fix did. Also I'd like to just point out that you would have to have a fair amount of magic ability to sense that sort of thing. Just saying. No big deal ))

Alario looked to Sam, who'd just woken up. in spite of the situation at hand, he shrugged nonchalantly. 'We were knocked out in someway, disarmed and then caged together. I probably slept with someone else's foot in my spine, so my back hurts. Also, I have no idea what's going on. All in all, I'd say I'm feeling like a good killspree...after a good sleep.' He rubbed his right shoulder, rolling it to ease the pain and stretched in an attempt to crack his back. Being unsuccessful, he went limp in a sitting position. 'Dammit...Sam, I always knew you'd get me into something like this when I saw you in that tavern...trouble is as trouble does, huh?'

Fix arrived at his house, a rickety old building that provided only minimal protection from the elements. Fix fumbled with the lock, one he'd made himself. He inserted a square metal rod into the lock, Turned it once then back. Then pushed down the 5 notches at the top of the handle in a specific order to raise the pins . If the pins are pushed down in the correct order. The metal rod could slide past the gear, turning it and safely allowing access. the lock allows two attempts. Its pretty much downhill from the third attempt. If attempted a 3rd time a wire trap, hidden beneath the snow at the door step is retracted by a heavy wieght...namely.. a blacksmiths anvil which Fix 'borrowed' without permission. Once an intruders legs were lashed to the door a second wire, released and then caught again by the very same anvil is retracted from the roof gutter to snare the shoulders or neck of an ansuspecting thief. Then the same anvil lands on a board, which releases a spring loaded beam toting 3 metal spines each as long as a mans arm from fingers to elbow that are then plunged through the thin wooden door from the inside out... turning the would be robber into a pin board. Fix unlocked the door without any problems, disarmed the trap and went to his desk.
Cliff pulled the cover off his table and equiptment and sat down and grabbed a spare pair of glasses (which made his eyes look comical and huge) to replace his lost ones. He strapped on a webbing kit and began to fill its casing pouches and pockets with assorted tools including pitons, ice spikes and anchors,a compact medical kit amoung other things. He took two pistols off a shelf above his desk, One a fine nickel plated automatic double-action ceremonial pistol, with a runic engraved slide. It did not however, chamber regular rounds. The magazine held 7 rounds of 20 gauge crumple-shot. A regular 20 gauge shell holds enough power to down a small bird or stop a snake or hare. Crumple-shot on the other hand, discharges 10 oiled hollow lead pellets, that flatten shortly after entering the skin, not so good against armoured foes, but on soft targets it hits hard, flattens and tears wide, 1 round of crumple-shot is enough to penetrate and crush bones at 10 metres, 1 round of crumple shot at 5 metres or less is enough to tear of limbs and remove most if not all organs required for living. Fix smiled, holstered the pistol and inspected the next, the barrel had developed light rust so fix scrubbed lightly with a rough rag until it was removed, he wiped off the excess lubricant to prevent it freezing and jamming the weapon in the cold. The Wheel barrelled pistol had a Oak grip and a long barrel, it held 5 rounds of 454. and required an arm brace to use, Fix packed it in his satchel followed by the brace. After he packed the ammunition and cleaning equiptment for both firearms he moved across the room and unlatched a reinforced stone and sheet steel chest, he picked out a small case labelled (Fragile- do not drop, shake or expose to ANY heat or power source) and strapped up and placed it neatly in his bag. This was followed by a magnetic hook grapple rifle, capable of holding and reeling in any wieght up to 90kg's, and that was by grip of the magnet alone, Cliff was confident it could support 120 kgs with its hook, but was doubtful it would reel in such a wieght. It had an unspool speed of 120km/Ph and wind rate of 40kms/Ph a range of 50 metres and hit objects with a force of 50 kgs per square inch. He grabbed a strap and attached it to the launcher so it would rest along his back. He rumaged through the chest a little longer, grabbing bits and pieces before finally resetting the trap and heading back to the bar to find Sam.
He arrived at the corner of the bar but quickly ducked backwards when he saw a large group of men toting weapons, Fix wasn't treated well in the nicest of company, so he knew showing himself to this particular gang of urchins wasn't the greatest plan. He then saw them picking up what looked like bodies, fix reached for his spectacles but couldn't find them. "Probally at the bottom of the pack you twit" he grumbled to himself, he'd have to get closer, but these lad's looked alert enough that he didn't like his chances."you know what killed the cat Fix" he mumbled while he drew the 20 gauge pistol and checked it hadn't frozen. One of the bigger thugs picked up a larger built body, It was undeniably Sam "Bastard" Fix hissed, he darted from the corner towards the large cart that was parked behind the smaller lead cart.
At the very same moment however the horses whinnies and undeniable sound of a cracking whip signaled that the cart was on the move, with nowhere to run or hide, Fix grabbed hold of the grate on the rear of the large cart which turned out to be the soldiers transport by the sound of the heavy footfalls and grunting, followed by the jingle and rattle of unholstered weapons. Fix grunted as he tried to get a foothold on the cart, but his hands were fairly low on the grate and he didn't have the strength in his core to bring his feet forward, he was fighting a losing battle with the ground, which was smashing his knees as the cart increased its speed dramatically, he attempted to pull himself higher with his upperbody strength alone, but in the blistering cold and rush in getting to the bar and forgetting gloves in the progress, Fix's skin and the metal bars of the grate refused to part, a large bump in the snow made the cart bounce, ripping the skin from Fix's hands and throwing him from the cart.
Fix stifled a scream , no mean feat considering he had lost a layer or two of skin from his palms, he was sliding behind the cart, his momentum carrying him at surprising speed across the icy road. Fix thinking quickly grabbed his grapple rifle, cringing as his second layer of new, stinging skin froze to the grip, The pained tears forming in his eyes quickly froze and clouded his vision, Fix aimed the hook and pulled the trigger, despite the blizzard, lack of glasses and pain distorting his target, the grapple flew through the air...
and slammed into the grate, smashing its supports causing it to drop and drag flat in the snow, trailing behind the cart. Meanwhile in the cart one of the soldiers felt the crash and moved to the front of the cart, smacking the driver around the head "Can you drive imbesile?!
Fix hit the rifles buttstock, causing it to begin winding, the combined speed of the cart and the fast winding launcher, smashing him in an unholy way across the ground. "darn!-" Fix hit a rock "Basta...!" He reached the grate, using his grip on the rifle and his free hand to grab a handhold on the cart and pull himself up. He reeled the grapple in after retrieving the hook with great difficulty, then using a rope from all the gear in his bag which by some miracle survived the whole ordeal, he lashed himself to the cart. He fumbled in the bag and saw the small case with the large warning across its top *(Fragile- do not drop, shake or expose to ANY heat or power source)* Fix started to chuckle at the first few warnings as the Cart veered off the main road and began to head further North.
The cart Finally stopped, and it had taken all of fix's remaining strength to quickly stow his rope and jump into the bushes that made up the entrance to the large building the cart was pulling into. He Forced himself to stay conciose long enough to watch them take the limp bodies inside the fortress, and feed and rest the horses indicating they were done moving for the day, before he curled up and covered himself in another layer of clothing to warm and ventilate himself and quickly passed out.

((Nice post, just keep in mind, Kylar, that weaponry of that sort is not that advanced yet, so try n play it down a bit, but I will allow it because Fix is an inventor and it is completely plausible he would make those things. Also, it should not be snowing, the group has traveled a long way since then, half the continent even, haha.))
Sam sighed looking at his companions. "I guess after having dragged you this far you deserve an explanation." he looked at his hands and created a fist. "Three years ago I was on a job in South Verudia. A contract that had been going for a few months. I was in charge of a small group of bruisers, we were to protect shipments coming in from Forik. I had no idea what was inside the boxes, but I was being payed well for them. I needed the money for my fiancee, Josephine. Fix's sister." "One day my curiosity got the better of me and I had a peek inside. This particular box had inside it, a set of armor. Gold Armour, with a featureless full faced mask. Beside it was a strange firearm of some sort. I knew straight away this was not good, and that the Archum was preparing for a war. So I fled, though I was still under the contract, so they hired Lanius to hunt me down, I believe you've met him." Sam paused looking down the corridor from the cell."He caught up to me, when I was with Jose. He took the both of us to Tera. There we were both tortured and along with ten others, experimented on. They pumped us with all sorts of drugs and chemicals, more interestingly though, they found a way to liquidize magic essence, with quite a large percentage of purity, which they pumped us with. The end result was what you saw in the tavern when I lost control of my powers." Having said that just now he felt weaker in this cell than he had ever before. "I go into rage mode, basically." He smirked at his own joke. "One day though, it happened to me. I blacked out and then woke up on the northern shore of Insulem. No idea where Jose was. I then soon found out I was being hunted again by Lanius, he was tasked to hunt as all down, lest we become a nuisance."
